Which parties have leaflet dropped at yours?

Ahead of the elections I've got the usual pile of junk through from the different political candidates - conservatives, liberal democrats, two independents but I never ever get any from labour or green.

What are the leaflet drops like in your area? Do they influence your vote at all?

Tories at least have leaflet dropped. I tend to regard them as blurb and not take much notice.
Labour though knocked on my door. This worked in her favour too as I remembered that she had helped with my crappy freeholder last year, and I have made a note to vote for her!

ATerrorofLeftovers · 21/04/2023 12:05

Tories dropped a leaflet about ULEZ expansion (we’re in London). It was full of blatant lies. I was able to look up their claims and find the evidence against what they were claiming v easily, so it’s clearly been deliberate.

I’m actually thinking about complaining, it’s that bad. I mean, we all know political parties lie, but come on, don’t take me for that much of a mug!! At least have the manners to make it a bit less obvious.

ilovesooty · 21/04/2023 12:06

Labour knocked on the door. The Liberal Democrats and Conservative left a leaflet. I'm quite surprised there is a Conservative candidate. Last time the British National Party left a leaflet which I used to line the cat litter box.

No none of them influence my vote.

Mushroomofficeglass · 21/04/2023 12:08

Only labour here. No doorstep visits.
We're in a town who's a safe labour council overall. However our area is a strong Conservative ward. It's unusually quiet from all parties this time.

EustaceTheMonk · 21/04/2023 12:09

Lib-Dems (massively!), Greens a couple of times. Tories once. Labour not at all. (We're a no-go zone for Labour here. The local CLP goes down the pub to celebrate if they save their deposit at a General Election.)

Neededanewuserhandle · 21/04/2023 12:09

Labour and Tories. I think it's fucking ludicrous that there are party alignments here - local councils have almost no power, but the Tories in one ward can propose/support the exact opposite of the Tories in the next ward.

I am voting independent (of which there is only one)

Unbridezilla · 21/04/2023 12:11

Lib dems once. No others so far, and no sight of anyone going door to door either.

It might influence my vote, but only because I feel so politically homeless at the minute I'm clutching at straws

Peppadog · 21/04/2023 12:12

Only greens so far

countrygirl99 · 21/04/2023 12:14

None if them. We are such a safe Tory ward so probably the others don't want to waste their money and the Tories don't think they need to bother. Our existing Councillor is utterly useless abd doesn't even bither to acknowledge emails most of the time but will no doubt be re-elected.

WhiteFire · 21/04/2023 12:17

Mayoral election as well so have had the main leaflet through the post, plus a separate one from the current through the door.

Local elections Labour and the current independent who is standing again which is the first contact from him in 4 years and he expects my vote.

Elphame · 21/04/2023 12:19

Only Labour have disregarded the "no political flyers" part of my no cold callers sign so they won't be getting my vote.

LoobyDop · 21/04/2023 12:21

Lib Dem and Labour. The seat switches between the two, nobody else really bothers. The Lib Dems are great, work really hard locally, and the candidate let me bash his ear about gender for a good 20 minutes, and made it clear he absolutely understands the issues and gets it, and is unimpressed by the behaviour of the TRAs. Labour phone it in with a candidate who can barely be arsed to set foot in the area, but usually wins by about a dozen votes.

MyFaceIsAnAONB · 21/04/2023 12:23

Leaflets from all and in-person knocks from Tories and Green. Tory was a very nervous shy guy who barely met my eye and Green (maybe he was Lib Dem, they work together here and have a joint leaflet) was v nice.

MelchiorsMistress · 21/04/2023 12:25

Lib Dems and Tory. Labour can’t be bothered to see if anyone in my area wants to vote for them.

Solmum1964 · 21/04/2023 12:27

Only Green - they produce an awful lot of not very green, high gloss A3 leaflets that my husband always comments on before putting them straight in the recycling!

YellowGreenBlue · 21/04/2023 12:28

Nothing at all from any party. I'm in a safe seat so I guess that's why.

Woofappreciationday · 21/04/2023 12:29

None from any party

Georgieporgie29 · 21/04/2023 12:33

Labour leaflet here only. Just gone straight in the bin as I find all of the leaflets from any party a load of waffle. Have already voted on my postal vote so any more received now would be useless anyway.

it’s just a local one though so colour of rosette doesn’t matter to me it’s how much they have done/are doing for the town. I’m voting for the person not the party

Comefromaway · 21/04/2023 12:36

I don't know because the dog has shredded all the leaflets. We keep him locked out of the hallway until the postman has been but these leaflets always seem to be delivered late afternoon/early evening when he is about!!!!

Pixiedust1234 · 21/04/2023 12:39

Lib Dem dropped a proper A4, doubled sided leaflet through the door.

Labour knocked, refusd to say what they would do for our area and handed me a pretty and very small leaflet that just gave the candidates name and phone number.

So...I only know what the Lib Dems stand for. Tbf I vote differently on local to General elections anyway. Our local councillors, despite not being in local power, are very good at helping our ward. Nationally their party sucks.

thaisweetchill · 21/04/2023 12:42

Conservatives and Labour here, we are a more Tory area though. I won't be voting.

afaloren · 21/04/2023 12:43

Only the Tories, for whom I certainly shall not vote. They’ll get in again though.

BarelyLiterate · 21/04/2023 12:45

Tories & Labour. The Lib Dems & Greens have negligible support around hare and are an irrelevance. No, the leaflets don’t influence my vote.

What does is knowing my local councillor, how hard she works and how seriously she takes her role. The problem is that she’s a Tory, and I’m not…

KnittedCardi · 21/04/2023 12:49

We have a good selection of independents now locally, so had a couple from them, and one from the conservatives. Interestingly they both say exactly the same about each other, which is a bit bemusing. Nothing from LibDems. No-one ever knocks around here. Too scared of being challenged by bolshy villagers.

thespy · 21/04/2023 12:49

Nothing here. Not a peep in any format & it has really pissed me off. For those who say they won't be voting perhaps consider spoiling your ballot? NOTA? These are counted and read out. It's a way of registering your discontent.
