Ahead of the elections I've got the usual pile of junk through from the different political candidates - conservatives, liberal democrats, two independents but I never ever get any from labour or green.

What are the leaflet drops like in your area? Do they influence your vote at all?

Only the Lib Dems. Labour don't need to bother because they always get in here. Conservatives don't bother because they'll never get in.

Greensleevevssnotnose · 21/04/2023 18:10

Just Tory

Songbird54321 · 21/04/2023 18:16

We've only had labour here. They may have knocked while we were out as there was a missed ring on the doorbell same day but not sure.
They get in here with no effort anyways (North East)

Ovaeasy · 21/04/2023 18:31

Labour and Lib Dems here & Labour have been round too. Nothing from the Tories - think they’ve given up.

My dp live in a very conservative area but have commented that most of the candidates seem to be standing as independents this time - maybe they don’t want the association.

caffelattetogo · 21/04/2023 18:33

Only Labour, and they have knocked too. I will be voting for them.

Runnerduck34 · 21/04/2023 18:39

I live in an outskirts of a village in Kent ,weve had zero leaflets. Really dont know who im voting for or what they stand for.
Our ward also includes a large " village" that bleeds into a bigger town about 3 miles . Feel we are ignored. Theres hardly anything online either. However no doubt the conservative candidate will win just by pinning on a blue rosette, all a bit depressing..

TomatoSandwiches · 21/04/2023 18:42

Only Lib Dems so far which is surprising, Conservatives are usually first through.

Ragwort · 21/04/2023 18:43

Lib Dems do the most canvassing and leaflet dropping where I live and, in the main, they do a good job on the local council and have seen off most of the Conservatives. No Labour or Green standing at all. Shock. One or two Independents who seem to have odd views and no manifesto.

I am left wing but have always lived in Tory constituencies ... sadly.

Floralnomad · 21/04/2023 18:43

Labour don’t bother round our way at all , in fact at the last 2 local elections I’m not sure they’ve fielded a candidate . We’ve had bumph from the conservatives and Lib Dem’s and an independent woman actually knocked the door .

Irridescantshimmmer · 21/04/2023 18:52

Red and green.

Don't get the blues....😁

Inthesamesinkingboat · 21/04/2023 18:55

Only an independent candidate here. Tories have proudly announced that they are the only party fielding candidates in every seat across the area, but quite frankly if you can’t be arsed to send out a leaflet introducing who you are then you won’t get my vote. Unless things change I’ll be voting for the independent, she seems a good egg, is involved locally and has bothered to get her name out there

So many non Tories living in Tory strongholds. Why?

Because nice, rural English villages are lovely places to live and the people who do live in them tend to vote overwhelmingly Conservative. I’m the odd one out.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 21/04/2023 19:12

Labour

LivingOnAPear · 21/04/2023 19:18

We’ve had leaflets from Tory and independent and door knock from labour. The area has 3 Tory councillors at the moment but demographics have changed and there’s more young families in the area now so I’m not sure they will all get in again (as they seem against things which benefit young families).

Thursdayschild7 · 21/04/2023 19:22

Only Lib Dems so far. They were also out litter picking last week, haven't seen or heard from any others.

Freddiefan · 21/04/2023 19:26

I have voted for the same lib dem man for many years and he is always available at the shops on a Saturday morning. He is currently helping a neighbour to get a blue badge for her disabled husband.
We have had a posh conservative leaflet and I had a question so emailed it to the address shown but have not had a reply.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 21/04/2023 19:33

Only the Conservatives and they don’t get my vote.

Bluevelvetsofa · 21/04/2023 19:42

Conservatives and Lib Dems. Couldn’t find out whether there’s a Labour candidate and I don’t think there are any others.

I’m considering spoiling the vote, except the LDs have one local policy I agree with.

cheapskatemum · 21/04/2023 19:57

Only the Green Party

Skybluepinky · 21/04/2023 19:59

No leaflets but the Labour candidate has visited twice.

Fairislefandango · 21/04/2023 20:01

Lib Dems drop stuff here all the time, year-round! Never see anything from any of the other parties. We live in a rare safe Lib Dem seat - the MP is very popular and clearly intends on staying that way.

DragonflyLady · 21/04/2023 20:09

Actually got a Tory one today. We’re really rural and they don’t seem to bother coming out here with the exception of the Labour candidate a few years ago who was from the area so actually visited spoke and spoke with them.

LynetteScavo · 21/04/2023 22:29

I've had a blue one, and yellow one and two different red ones. Not a green one (maybe they're saving paper?)

The Lib Dem's leaflet showed how close they were in the last election to Conservatives- and this is traditionally a very Conservative area.

We've had a knock in the door from a LibDem canvaser- but not the person who is standing.

I will definitely be voting.

Kissedbyfire1 · 21/04/2023 22:30

Labour - 2 leaflets and a door knock
Tories - 1 leaflet
LD - nothing
Green - nothing
