Would you give away your pet for a million pounds?

Hypothetically.
If somebody knocked on my door right now and offered to re-home my cat for a million pounds, I just don't think I could do it. Even though that would be a completely life-changing amount of money for me. Could you?

No. I'm happy with the amount of money I have and just as happy with my cat (When he isn't walking on the work surfaces, licking leftover curry sauce, shitting in my greenhouse and eating sparrows and lots of other things he shouldn't be doing)

Maple2023 · 18/04/2023 18:53

Not a hope. My cat adores me and I couldn't do that to him

CheriseNuland · 18/04/2023 18:52

How hypothetically? Can we answer this one if we don’t have a pet?

Yes of course!

I have 6 cats. They're just perfection so no. My son has a tortoise and I'd have to say yes for him 😞

Mammyloveswine · 18/04/2023 18:53

Id probs rehome my rabbits for 10 grand tbh 🤣🤣🤣

Love them to bits but rabbits are not exactly the easy pets they are made out to be!

amylou8 · 18/04/2023 18:54

They can have MrJumpOnYourHeadAt3am for free.

I love my cats, but a million quid...if I knew they were going to be cared for then absolutely. I wouldn't see harm come to them for any money.

My cat likes curry sauce too! Cats are such adorable weirdos 😁

No, she's mine.

EscapeRoomToTheSun · 18/04/2023 18:55

Not a chance. Love her more than my husband tbh.

Might swap him for a million if anyone is offering?

OneTC · 18/04/2023 18:55

If you could guarantee them going to a good home then no problem.

I love my cat but I'd probably sell my imaginary children for £1m

moveoverye · 18/04/2023 18:55

They disappear into the night. You don’t know if they’re going to live with David Attenborough, or a sausage factory.

And for anyone that thinks cats can't adore you!

I think I need to start a new thread about husbands 😂

Absolutely not. Not for any amount of money. There is nothing that could make me give my dog up. He is my best friend.

EvenHeathens · 18/04/2023 18:42

Nope, she may be tiny but she is worth more to us than any amount of money

So cute!x

Oh no I hope I'm never in this situation, how worrying!

I couldn't do it but I'd forever think about the ££££ and what I could've spent it on.

TroysMammy · 18/04/2023 18:57

@moveoverye you can't get weirder than Haribo. I could write a book, well 2 sides of A4 as he's only 3 1/2.

Surely2023IsTheYearForMyRainbowBaby · 18/04/2023 18:57

Not a chance

Ollifer · 18/04/2023 18:58

A million pounds yes as harsh as some people may find that. I'm in a lot of financial trouble and would like to be able to have a better life for myself and my child - I love my pets but not as much as I love my child and that would be the main factor in the decision

Bk1000 · 18/04/2023 18:58

Maybe if they were going to a better home than what I can offer but id have to be sure they were going to be happier than with me.

OneTC · 18/04/2023 18:58

I asked him and he said take the money

Soubriquet · 18/04/2023 18:59

Right now, on the brink of homelessness, although it would break my heart, yes I would do it. For my children

Eas1lyd1stracted · 18/04/2023 18:59

No for two out of the three. The third without a doubt, he's an angry Tom who would be happy bossing anyone around and I know he'd do just fine 🤣

Puttingmyfootdown · 18/04/2023 19:00

Never. She's as loved as the DCs
