Would you give away your pet for a million pounds?

Hypothetically.
If somebody knocked on my door right now and offered to re-home my cat for a million pounds, I just don't think I could do it. Even though that would be a completely life-changing amount of money for me. Could you?

No!

moveoverye · 18/04/2023 18:45

My work colleagues would too.
I really really REALLY want a million pounds, but the thought of her confused little face meowing at me as he put her in a box… it’s upsetting me just to think about it.

This is the sort of scintillating stuff we talk about over lunch in my office ;)

Yes - goldfish. Can I throw in dh for another 10k?
Only kidding…

learieonthewildmoor · 18/04/2023 18:45

No, they love and trust me.

LittleBlueBrioTrain · 18/04/2023 18:46

Yes. They'd soon bring him back.

ItsThePlayBusDingDing · 18/04/2023 18:46

My dd has a massive spider that I would get rid of for £1, I absolutely hate it and I'm terrified.

We also have rats and a cat, it would be pretty gut wrenching to lose them, but a million would give my dc financial security forever so I would.

This question is stressing me out.

Sorry!

Depends when they'd knocked. If it was at 6am when I'd been up 3 times since half 4 to let her go outside to eat grass, I'd probably have handed her over for free.
The rest of the time, no.

Boxshibe · 18/04/2023 18:47

No to the dogs but we also have 4 millipedes and a centipede so yes for them.

Wolfcub · 18/04/2023 18:47

No

Blossomtoes · 18/04/2023 18:47

Absolutely not. She’s the light of my life.

Squidthing · 18/04/2023 18:47

Yes, I love my cat but come on - a million pounds?

stbrandonsboat · 18/04/2023 18:47

No, they're members of the family.

Some days I'd happily give him away for two bob and a pickled egg, the little swine.

😂😂😂 swine caught me off guard

We have similar conversations in my workplace, although my question was “would you lick Simon in accounts bumhole for 25k”

I’d do many many things for a million quid, but not sell my cat.

Poppins2016 · 18/04/2023 18:48

Depends which pet (I could let the chickens go but not the cats)! I would far rather cut ties with certain people in my life over the cats.

DemelzaandRoss · 18/04/2023 18:49

Never ever.

DaaamnYoullDo · 18/04/2023 18:50

To a dog fighter? No.
To an average couple who want a dog, yeah sorry.

Filde · 18/04/2023 18:50

No - because I’d spend the rest of my life worrying about her

LunaNorth · 18/04/2023 18:50

Not a hope.

Pennyplant19 · 18/04/2023 18:51

Husband yes. Pets no.

moveoverye · 18/04/2023 18:52

You don’t get to know what happens to your pet, you have to take the risk.

iaapap · 18/04/2023 18:52

No

BMW6 · 18/04/2023 18:52

I couldn't, no. It would be utterly pointless as I'd be so distressed worrying about ddog I'd never get any enjoyment from anything the money would buy.

CheriseNuland · 18/04/2023 18:52

How hypothetically? Can we answer this one if we don’t have a pet?
