Would you give away your pet for a million pounds?

Hypothetically.
If somebody knocked on my door right now and offered to re-home my cat for a million pounds, I just don't think I could do it. Even though that would be a completely life-changing amount of money for me. Could you?

Yes. And any non rich person saying they wouldn’t is telling porkies!

You don't think non rich people have morals and judgement?

MuggedByTheSleepThief · 18/04/2023 19:15

Yup. Writing it looking into her brown eyes is slightly tough but a million? Yes. I have already apologised to her.

SixPurpleChairs · 18/04/2023 19:15

No.

I'll pay you to take my SIL away though 🤣

RunningUpThatMill · 18/04/2023 19:15

No. I wouldn't give up my dog for a million. DH on the other hand, I'll sell him for £500k.

nicky2512 · 18/04/2023 19:15

My dog - never. And I don’t think dh or the kids could either.
I love him so much. My health isn’t great and he gets me through the day.

Our last remaining Guinea pig. Down to one elderly lady who is very happy inside with full attention and positioned not too far from the fridge! - I would initially have thought about it but I just looked at her wee face and no, couldn’t part with her either.
They are a big commitment and a big expense but they just bring so much happiness. I actually feel very emotional thinking about this!

thefamous5 · 18/04/2023 19:15

Yes.

I love my cat. But I love my children more and a million pounds could be life changing for them.

rhow · 18/04/2023 19:15

I would like to say no, but honestly, I'd probably give my husband away for a million...

uggmum · 18/04/2023 19:16

I would absolutely accept a million for my cat.
I would probably accept far less

Not rich. Had a horse on loan. She died. I ended up sedated on tablets from the doctors as I was such a state. I wouldn't have given her to anyone for a million pounds, I would rather have her back

Glitterybee · 18/04/2023 19:17

I actually would 😂

ModestMoon · 18/04/2023 19:17

For a million pounds, absolutely.

McKenzieFriend001 · 18/04/2023 19:18

Yes. Can I have two million for both the little shites?

aSpanielintheworks · 18/04/2023 19:19

Cat yes. They are not loyal. They'd go to anyone who fed them and wouldn't look back.

Dog, never in a million years.

MissingMoominMamma · 18/04/2023 19:19

No. Absolutely not.

Bumcake · 18/04/2023 19:19

Not the cats, but they’d be welcome to any of the aquarium dwellers for a thousand a pop.

Betaalpha · 18/04/2023 19:20

Depends what they're gonna do with it... Probably no.

Spottycarousel · 18/04/2023 19:20

Absolutely not. My dog is my baby. She's elderly and got health problems that require medication and she would not cope being moved elsewhere.

BelleSauvage9 · 18/04/2023 19:21

I'd carry the guilt with me for the rest of my life but I definitely would.

Betaalpha · 18/04/2023 19:23

Just saw op answered that. No, if I didn't know whats gonna happen to them, and ending up as a sausage was a possibility, then no...

Bigminnie1 · 18/04/2023 19:23

No way would I give away my dog!

MissDollyMix · 18/04/2023 19:23

LadyVictoriaSponge · 18/04/2023 19:02

No absolutely not, not even 10 million, my dog is priceless I could never voluntarily give her up, no amount of money could persuade me to not only break my heart, but shatter my dogs heart as well, she can’t cope without me.

This! Plus my children would be utterly heartbroken too.
I wouldn't judge anyone who could though. Also, I would definitely swap up something like a hamster or a fish.

CrapBucket · 18/04/2023 19:24

No, my dog is the best dog in the world, I’d never sell him.

Would I have time to hop over the fence and pinch the neighbours yappy little thing though?

chocspot · 18/04/2023 19:24

They can have the rabbits but not the cats, even though one of them is an arsehole.

SD1978 · 18/04/2023 19:25

Yes.
