Would you give away your pet for a million pounds?

Hypothetically.
If somebody knocked on my door right now and offered to re-home my cat for a million pounds, I just don't think I could do it. Even though that would be a completely life-changing amount of money for me. Could you?

Yes. He's lovely. But a million pounds! Obviously I'd check they wanted a pet and not dinner or something.

HaggisBurger · 18/04/2023 18:41

I love my dogs dearly but I think I would 😩. Kids would never forgive me tho.

Jux · 18/04/2023 18:42

No

EvenHeathens · 18/04/2023 18:42

Nope, she may be tiny but she is worth more to us than any amount of money

Dotcheck · 18/04/2023 18:42

Yep
I love them, but it sucks worrying about money

Popuppilot · 18/04/2023 18:42

Yes. Not joking. A million pounds would sort out a lot for me.

Rushhomeroad · 18/04/2023 18:42

If they knocked on the door just after cleaning shit off the carpet, then absolutely yes. Otherwise, probably not as it would break her heart and I couldn't live with the guilt.

YouJustDoYou · 18/04/2023 18:42

I stayed in an abusive relationship for the sake of my little old dog. No money to move out, no one to stay with who could accept pets. Had already had him for 15 years by that point so was no way I would ever just dump him as it was, let alone for any amount of money.

Bobshhh · 18/04/2023 18:42

Head answer - yes of course, I can just get more cats once I have the money

heart - are you fucking mad? Give my tiny furry baby angels away to a stranger because of my own greed? Never!

Trinity69 · 18/04/2023 18:42

Nope. The kids however…..

NotTheMrMenAgain · 18/04/2023 18:42

Nope. Not my hound. Not for any amount of money.

Now, the ex-husband or my bellend of a brother? I’d pay you good money to take them ‘away’. 😆

OhcantthInkofaname · 18/04/2023 18:43

I would.

bridgetreilly · 18/04/2023 18:43

For me it would entirely depend on the new home. If I knew they would love him and look after him better than I could in some way, then I would definitely consider it. But not to just anyone. No way.

QueenSmartypants · 18/04/2023 18:43

No

ComtesseDeSpair · 18/04/2023 18:43

Yes. I’ve always liked my pets and treated them well, but they’re not members of the family. They’re just amusing animals I feed and take care of. And frankly I doubt they’d pine after me for very long before getting used to a new home, I’m definitely not enough of a sap to think they love me.

Growlybear83 · 18/04/2023 18:44

No I wouldn't part with my cat for anything.

Axolotlquestions · 18/04/2023 18:44

This question is stressing me out.

DRS1970 · 18/04/2023 18:44

Yes

SweetcornFritter · 18/04/2023 18:44

I would deffo sell my cat for £1m, and will consider any sensible offers over £500k 😺

GalileoHumpkins · 18/04/2023 18:44

No. Anyone who would sell their pet to a random stranger is a monster imo.

SynchOrSwim · 18/04/2023 18:45

God yes!! I do it for a few k! He's a nice enough cat but it's not like giving my child away!

nomoredriving · 18/04/2023 18:45

No

Starlightstarbright1 · 18/04/2023 18:45

Yes.

I could make a lot of life changes for that money. Its a g.pig esp if was going to be with another g.pig as her mate died

SeanMean · 18/04/2023 18:45

Yes

ladydimitrescu · 18/04/2023 18:45

I don't know, because that would be life changing for my children's future. But my cat is part of my family - that's a horrible decision 😭 either way I'd feel like I'd let someone down!
