Would you give away your pet for a million pounds?

Hypothetically.
If somebody knocked on my door right now and offered to re-home my cat for a million pounds, I just don't think I could do it. Even though that would be a completely life-changing amount of money for me. Could you?

Yes, they could take both my cats for that. I love them but they are just basic moggies and definitely not irreplaceable. I've had lots of cats, these are no better or worse than any other.

justmyluck1234 · 19/04/2023 20:32

It's a no from me too, couldn't be without her.

Mittens1717 · 19/04/2023 20:32

Yes, so long as I knew she was going to a good home, love her to bits but 1m is a hell of a lot of money

erikbloodaxe · 19/04/2023 20:53

For a million pounds they could buy one and I'd throw one in for free. I'm keeping the third one though.

verabarbleen · 19/04/2023 21:20

Yes and then I would use my money to steal them back and run away 😂

The dog is my favourite child, so no.

Mine too. DD sends me cards saying love from your 2nd favourite child >

Me too. My mothers' day card had a photo of the dog saying, 'A photo of your favourite child for the mantelpiece'. On the inside it says, 'Well it's not me is it? Happy Mother's Day!'

SchoolQuestionnaire · 19/04/2023 21:22

Absolutely not.

I’d sooner sell one of the kids. Joking obviously. I think

XenoBitch · 19/04/2023 21:23

No way.
The money would be nice, but it would never replace the companionship and love I have from my dog. You can not put a price on that.

Chasingadvice · 19/04/2023 21:25

GalileoHumpkins · 18/04/2023 18:44

No. Anyone who would sell their pet to a random stranger is a monster imo.

'A monster' Wink

Hilarious. I love when the animal nuts come out.

Zerrin13 · 19/04/2023 21:29

Not for 10 million. I totally love her

BounceyB · 19/04/2023 21:33

Yes. But I think they'd ask for a refund after an hour. My boy is super sweet to look at but he's high maintenance.

MumofSpud · 19/04/2023 21:35

No - they have kept me sane and given me a purpose since DH died.
In the early days they were the reason I had to get out of bed.
Without them, I dread to think!

HouseofGods · 19/04/2023 21:35

No. And I'd remortgage and more to have one more day with him 💔 nearly a year on and I still miss him terribly.

Loafbeginsat60 · 19/04/2023 21:38

Depends which one they wanted. D rescue dog no way, he's my baby.

D sheepdog - probably. He's a pain in the arse, runs away, chases things, rolls in crap, eats crap, jumps up and scratches things, gets filthy and shakes on stuff. Yeah, they can have him!

NotHangingAround · 19/04/2023 21:39

No, even though he probably only has a few weeks left to live. He is a loved member of the family.

Hop27 · 19/04/2023 21:42

My dog saved my life. Absolutely no way. My husband on the other hand could easily go for 1 mill....

Itwasnaeme · 19/04/2023 21:45

I would, with sadness - but the life I could give my dc would mean I'd have to do it!

Cryalot2 · 19/04/2023 21:46

No way, not for all the money in the world.
She loves us unconditionally and is fun and is part of the family. But then I spend a lot of time with her.

Money could not buy me the happiness that I get from my pet.
My heart would break without my pet.

Namechangeforthis189 · 19/04/2023 21:48

Right now as I watch my dog hide under the trampoline and ignore my requests to get in from the garden… yes 😁

The other 99% of the time, no.

sanityisamyth · 19/04/2023 21:53

No. I'd get rid of my mother before I got rid of the pony!

Catsmere · 19/04/2023 23:03

@Beeswood I do indeed! The “in a flash” type answers here are making my skin crawl tbh.

Teenagequeenwithaloadedgun · 19/04/2023 23:21

Not a chance. We've adopted a rescue dog who was abused, and wouldn't let her down by giving her away. She's a member of the family and we adore her.

Itwasnaeme · 19/04/2023 23:39

Depends on the pet too, surely. A dog would be sad to be rejoined in a way that a mouse wouldn't.

ImAGoodPerson · 19/04/2023 23:50

This is such a difficult one. There is another thread going asking if you'd sleep with someone for £1m, almost without hesitation it was a yes, but this one I'm not sure.

Just don't think I could do it even though they are a big source of our money problems and stress at the moment.

DonnaRix · 19/04/2023 23:55

My twat of a hamster? I’d pay someone to take the damn thing.
