Vinted Sellers

Why is it so hard for sellers on Vinted to list their clothing correctly?!

I ordered a Nike top in large as I have items in that size from Nike that fit me. So I order a Nike top in large, it's come and it's a medium!

I've contacted the seller to say it's been listed incorrectly and their response is "I'm a large and it fits me. I’ve always bought large and had to exchange it for a medium'

Just because it fits you doesn't mean it'll fit me! If the label says medium why then say it's large on a selling site?!

Very frustrating for you! Can only think it's laziness.

I sell on ebay and Vinted, but always show photos of the size and care label, plus a tape measure showing across the bust and length, as I don't want any come back.

TokyoSushi · 17/04/2023 13:29

I'm a big 'Vinted er' here is definitely an element of fuckwittery on there. I've received a top and the colour is absolutely nothing at all like it's pictured (It is the same top, just) I've just put it back up for sale.

That's just someone with low intelligence.

Have you marked 'Everything is all right' or 'There is a problem with my order' after receipt? You'll be able to return it on the basis of wrong size, though you'll have the cost of the postage deducted from your total return, which is an awful setup for something that's not your fault.

RunningUpThatBuilding · 17/04/2023 13:39

That’s infuriating- I always include a photo of the size label on my listings!

Caddyautopants · 17/04/2023 13:42

She sounds a bit .... um.... not very bright (I don't know how else to say it!)

I only buy from sellers who take photos of the label Inc the size

not that it matters when it's been shrunk

pebbles3004 · 17/04/2023 14:04

I've had the same issue, ordered a bundle of size 2-3 and even sent her a message asking her to confirm the size as the labels weren't photographed, which she did.

The clothes arrived size 18-24 months and she couldn't understand why I wanted a refund 🤯 not going to fit my son who is no longer 18-24 months are they?!?

SquashPenguin · 17/04/2023 14:07

I’d love to know why no one selling on Vinted owns an iron. I’ve seen some stuff looking not much better than a heap of material, can’t even tell what’s it’s supposed to be. Very bizarre.

Lolololololol · 17/04/2023 14:09

I clicked on one earlier. The listing says XL, but the photo shows S on the tag... in the description it's says "tag says small, but I'd say it's more a 12/14" just list it as it is, then there is no come back!

StoneofDestiny · 17/04/2023 14:09

You can return it if it's the wrong size. Just tick the right box.

If uncertain just ask for a picture with the tape measure across - then it's clear.

Tacocatgoatcheesepizza · 17/04/2023 14:10

It is annoying, but it also annoys me that on vinted it’s got the options of eg small/8, medium/10, large/12. That means that depending on what brand it is and how they size they’re clothing you could be listing a large which is usually more like size 16/18 and having to choose the L/12 option. I think they should have the numbers and the letters sizing as separate options personally. I always list with a photo of the size label included for this very reason!

StoneofDestiny · 17/04/2023 14:14

I agree Taco - if it's a well known brand sold in uk stores people can select easier - if it's a less well known brand I'd ask for the tape measure to illustrate - or I'd sell with tape measure showing the actual size.

Yeah this really annoys me too. I know it's hard to get the exact colour in the photos but it's not hard to mention it in the text "actually purple even though it looks blue in photos".

SnapchatJustForTheFilters · 17/04/2023 14:25

I list all my items with a photo of size tag and people STILL complain because - as @Tacocatgoatcheesepizza says, Vinted automatically allocates a 12 as a Large (bullshit) and they complain it's not a Large.

I also only buy items that have a photo of size tag.

Caddyautopants · 17/04/2023 14:25

Vinted Mens is a shit show as well. You can't select W32 or anything like that.

Just S, M, L etc

I used to love Vinted but spotting my old Roxy hoody on there from 2006 listed at £30, all faded and bobbly has really put me off 😂 some people are nutters

IntergalacticP · 17/04/2023 14:27

I had this exact issue. Bought in box shoes for ds that were listed as a size 2. Turned up and they were a zero. When I complained the seller said "they're the same size as my sons size 2 Nikes" well cool story but they don't fit my son. Basically cost me £3.50 (return postage) to find out the seller couldn't read.

TruffleShuffles · 17/04/2023 14:27

I always take a photo of the label when selling so people know exactly what they are getting.

The people who list items as new without tags and then use a picture of them out wearing it to show the item are the ones who annoy me.

user1471517095 · 17/04/2023 14:36

I used Vinted to buy something for the first time the other week. Bought an item that had been listed for 4 months. 3 days later I get a message "my printer is broke so I can't print a label, I'm cancelling the sale. But I'll re-list the item if you want to buy it again" sounded a bit odd to me - why re-list straight away, why not just post it to me? So I got my sister to buy the item. One week later she gets a refund, the sale has been cancelled again with no explanation this time. It's put me right off.

Dolallytats · 17/04/2023 14:44

I've been looking in the last few days and it's really frustrating. The other thing that's annoying is when people say 'in perfect condition, just one small hole in the knee'!! In what universe is something in perfect condition if it has a hole!!

Apart from that, I love Vinted 😊

giantvolcano · 17/04/2023 14:53

What I find frustrating is the negative feedback you get as a buyer out of spite!

A seller asked me if I'd pay more for an item that I'd already purchased! The order was cancelled as they didn't post it out in time. I reaaaally wanted this item so I agreed repurchase, but the seller had the cheek to ask if I'd pay more! They eventually settled on the original price, but when I left a 3 star review outlining this, they gave me one star back saying they didn't feel any 'kindness' or 'positivity' from me 🙄

Not yet I'm still annoyed! Seems pointless to return though by the time I've covered return costs and then receive the refund it's not really a 'refund'. I will relist and hopefully get my money back that way 🤞🏼

I sell a lot of items and like a lot of posters here I always take a picture of the label to cover myself. I probably take too many photographs with my listings but I don't want any come back! As this was a named brand though I didn't doubt the size as to what it was listed.

I'll be asking 101 questions the next time I buy something!

100% agree! But, I want a jumper that's on there in a Woolovers medium. People keep listing them as say a 10/S because that's what they are themselves. List the bloody tag size!

Haus1234 · 17/04/2023 15:11

I had bad feedback from someone who bought a dress which was size 12 with a picture of the label saying 12 as they said it didn’t fit them so must actually be a size 10. You can’t win! I can’t be bothered with all the hassle of selling any more after a few incidents like that.

And presumably the OP would then be paying for that return?
