RIP little Finley.

why, why are such babies returned to monsters like the two who murdered baby Finley. Only 10 months old.

@TheUsualChaos

Billy Jo Jenkins
Leiland James Corkhill
Elsie Scully Hicks

These children were all murdered by their foster carers. A previous poster has stated the devil walks among us, I guess these foster "carers" must be really good actors. I remember reading of a case in Wigan approx 2000's where a potential adopter died after falling through a full length mirror. This woman was about to have a baby placed in her care, and the inquest heard that she was hiding a serious drink problem.

Leiland and Elsie were adopted, not fostered. Nobody has been convicted of the murder of Billy Jo. If you are going to point the finger at foster carers at least get your facts right.

Cavend · 14/04/2023 23:25

@ShonaShoop
I was not "pointing the finger at foster parents". Just replying to a previous poster who suggested children at risk were safer in children's homes or foster carers.

I think the point being made was care provided by anyone when a child is removed from their parents not to specifically target foster carers.

@birminghampicnic this is the post I was responding to. Which clearly points the finger at foster carers. At least two of these children were not with foster carers.

Another failure for Children's Services, for sure. But not in foster care.

Thedogscollar · 14/04/2023 23:41

Rest in Peace Finley and all the children who have gone before.
Utterly heartbreaking the suffering his tiny body endured. I do hope somebody cradled his broken little body in the hospital so that somehow he felt some love and tenderness.

Is it really necessary to bring in posts on other threads?

And? I don’t take my children, my grandchildren or my foster children out to eat, at night time, at restaurants. I appreciate a couple of hours quiet, adult time, without being hounded by other peoples kids, running around my table when I have provided paid for, CRB checked child care for my own on a rare night off. Is that a problem for you?

birminghampicnic · 14/04/2023 23:49

It does seem that these incidents keep happening and will keep happening. There is always a weak link in the chain somewhere this time it was a bad decision by the court and a sw who didn’t follow the plan but in other cases it’s been other issues and always the case that a parent or step parent has been cruel and evil.

seems in this case that there was a financial motive for the parents to pursue being reunited with their child - if this is a theme commonly seen perhaps that needs to be addressed and some sort of schemes set up where parents have an incentive to give their child up voluntarily, it sounds unethical but it could save lives

PickAChew · 14/04/2023 23:50

The cannibis in Finley's system was probably his only pain relief :/

Im ignoring the idiot trying to derail a thread about the cruel death of a baby. Let’s move on please 🙏

There has been very little on SM news about little Finley Boden. I watched the trial very early on and then it suddenly dried up. With the news reported today following the verdicts from the jury Im not surprised really. It must have been a very harrowing case for anyone to sit through and report.

Poor baby Finley 😢 How he must have suffered 😣 After watching the news tonight I’ve learnt he was only placed with his monster parents for the last month of his life. I feel, somewhat, happy that he experienced some love and joy in his life but so bloody sad that two people from the human race caused him so much pain after putting up a case to have him returned to their care. Human they are not.

I am so angry that somebody or somebodies saw fit to take him from loving carers and dump him with the devil(s). How does that work? Who did the judge rely on to provide sufficient evidence that known drug addicts could provide the care that every baby or child needs and deserves. How can a baby be taken from a loving, caring foster home to be placed in squalor? Surely social services must have been visiting the home and made an assessment on the parents and home environment and decided it wasn’t suitable if they decided to remove the baby at birth.

How does the court make recommendations to suddenly decide the parents are now suitable parents? Who provides him with the evidence and how? I’m totally confused by the courts decisions in recent cases.

Poor baby 😢 What a waste of a life. I hope those baby killers get what’s coming to them from their fellow inmates. Nobody wants to share a cell with a baby killer right?

Doormatnomore · 15/04/2023 01:19

I think at these hearings when deciding whether to return a child to its parents they should tell parents they will start child benefit payments from today and just come and pick up the child when they’re ready. That’ll separate out who wants the child and who wants the money and yes it’s paying out what’s not deserved but keeps children away from monsters. Clearly the current system doesn’t work so let’s be more practical.

I think posters should realise that the transition conditions of Findlay returning home was never stuck to by SS. He was supposed to have home visits. They allowed the father to cancel them all. When the SW did see Findlay, she ignored bruising and didn't try to lift him. Had she have done so, he would have been in extreme pain. They wouldn't have been passing home inspections on the two occasions that the SW did get in. There's most definitely been failures. It is worth noting that if the neighbours, once again as in all these cases, had have phoned the police because of what they heard, he would still be alive. We stil get threads on here were people are told to myob.

This happened local to me and I have personally had dealings with the social services department that dealt with this case. They refuse to look at evidence, tend to believe everything the mother says, cannot detect manipulation by abusers and tend to sweep things under the carpet. I wouldn't trust them to look after a pencil if it was up to me. I have even taken them up to a stage 2 investigation before for their failings, a lot of which were upheld.

This is heartbreaking, I'm pregnant finally with my rainbow baby after nearly 4 years of trying and to think this is how they treated a blessing so many can only dream of.
I would have given him so much love.

Me too, 13 miscarriages and 34 weeks pregnant.

I'll never understand how they could ever harm a child let alone their own 💔

RIP beautiful Finley xx

Why are these bastards always fertile too when
The nicest people can't seem to conceive.

This is so upsetting that poor poor baby. Monsters like this should get whole life sentences

thebaneofmylifeisacat · 15/04/2023 10:28

According to news reports family members begged the courts not to send him and his older brother back to the parents!

Wtaf don't these 'professionals!' Listen to extended family who obviously know these monsters best?

This. It's always these monsters that are Able to breed so easily.

Brieandme · 15/04/2023 10:35

@thebaneofmylifeisacat the family members would have been spoken to as part of the process but the basis of the law is - if there is a chance it will work with the parents, even if the parents would need a lot of support to make it just about adequate parenting, then a child should be with their parents. The law sets out a very clear hierarchy - parents first, family second, foster/adoption last. It's not set out that way to appease parents, its the right of the child. Of course for the majority of children growing up with their parents is the right thing, even if parents aren't great - the life long trauma of separation is huge. It might seem obvious now that these parents weren't good enough but the reality is lots of parents aren't great and smoke weed and live in messy houses and they don't murder their children. There's no crystal ball that tells a judge which ones will.

thebaneofmylifeisacat · 15/04/2023 10:53

But he was happy snd settled with other family members. The courts knew this couple were druggies so why risk it? Obviously they had taken no steps to improve their behaviour so why on Earth let them have a tiny baby in their care.
It's not about a crystal ball it's about commen sense.

thebaneofmylifeisacat · 15/04/2023 10:57

I see your points of course but many many threads on here are full of stories of awful parents. Bad parenting causes life long trauma for children

If there are loving family alternatives to quite frankly bloody terrible parents then the parents should be passed over. They blew it.

FrostyFifi · 15/04/2023 16:01

What's so upsetting is the pictures of him in the news reports. He's clearly so happy, smiley and well looked after. The thought of taking him from that to where he ended up...

thebaneofmylifeisacat · 15/04/2023 16:21

It's heartbreaking isn't it.

I watched the videos of little Arthur Labinjo Hughes where those bastards were eating ice cream in the 2020 heatwave and he was made to stand in the room with a coat on. I wish I could unsee it.

Special place in hell for them I hope
