DH and I did our usual thing (well for the last 11 years of knowing each other - the first year he set false expectations by sending me roses at work at vast expense) of exchanging cards before work yesterday. Then DS (normally very laid back, head in the clouds type) came in and got all quiet and teary eyed because he wanted a valentine's card. First time he's bothered and he's nearly 7. So I promised to make him one. Took card, DD's pencil case with gel pens in and stickers to work. Unfortunately it turned out the card had already been drawn on by DD. So when I got home I found some fresh card and made him a very basic lovely heart shaped card, and also one for DD who would have gone apoplectic otherwise. He muttered thanks and returned to his 30 min slot on his DS.

Well Christmas isn't about pyjama's, but lots of Mn'ers seem to give their family new pyjamas in Christmas Eve.

As long as its not mandatory and we don't all have to start teaching our children that St Valentine is real, it seems pretty harmless to me.

"on Christmas Eve" and in for a penny, in for a pound: "it's not mandatory".
