Ok, admittedly I’m just here to rant.

at 8.30am this lovely Sunday morning my neighbours, who are normally fine, started playing the SAME SONG on repeat at a defeating volume. Woke the whole house up and you can hear it in every room.

AIBU to think this is completely f-ing unacceptable?!

p.s there are some pregnancy hormones at play here but…. Shhh

I might not be fun, but at least I speak properly.

Why not both?

Burgoo · 10/04/2023 20:07

Just ask them to turn it down? Surely this isn't a problem?

T1Dmama · 10/04/2023 22:03

A normal Sunday it would be unreasonable.
BUT yesterday was Easter Sunday…. 8.30am on Easter or Christmas is not unreasonable…

I don't understand why you think it's different? Please can you explain why you think it is.

It was music of religious significance

Not to the OP, or even I presume most practising Christians in this country.

Is there a religious group for whom Easter is celebrated by playing a single song on a loop at home til your neighbours revolt?

😄😆

Playing Ace of Base 'I Saw the Sign' on repeat got a neighbour of mine stabbed to death in New Zealand. Not by us.

Sounds justified. I wouldn’t convict Grin

Mamanyt · 11/04/2023 00:08

Well, you are certainly not being unreasonable to be upset. Perhaps even VERY upset. Lived? Maybe a wee bit unreasonable, but not by much. If this is the first time it has happened, take a deep breath, shrug it off. You might mention, when you can do so calmly, to your neighbors that the volume was loud enough to wake your entire household up, and would they please lower it a (good) bit in the early mornings, or for future reference, late evenings.

OrderOfTheKookaburra · 11/04/2023 00:10

At least it wasn't at dawn..... which is when quite a few Easter services start!

Hmm1234 · 11/04/2023 13:24

LOL they were celebrating Easter Sunday in a traditional way then. YABU get the lawnmower or hoover out

pollymere · 11/04/2023 14:14

Easter Sunday potentially means playing something in celebration. I get woken up during Ramadan by my neighbours eating before daylight. It's just something you accept. I'd have probably waited until 9am but this is something that is clearly important to them and their faith.
