Ok, admittedly I’m just here to rant.

at 8.30am this lovely Sunday morning my neighbours, who are normally fine, started playing the SAME SONG on repeat at a defeating volume. Woke the whole house up and you can hear it in every room.

AIBU to think this is completely f-ing unacceptable?!

p.s there are some pregnancy hormones at play here but…. Shhh

8am Sunday

You don't need to add the morning bit as well.

🙄

joelmillersbackpack · 09/04/2023 10:36

If it’s Hey Sexy Lady by Shaggy then apologies neighbour 👋

ConstanceOcean · 09/04/2023 10:38

YANBU but as it’s a one off then I’d let it go.

Do expect similar on other Christian occasions though.

BobShark · 09/04/2023 10:43

Do they have a 10yo?
Mines been playing the same song over and over so may time I want to walk out of the house and never return. He says he needs to learn all the lyrics, he now knows them and is practicing 😩

🙄

You wouldn't say "8 o clock Sunday morning morning" so why say "8am Sunday Morning" ?

namechangeforthispoint · 09/04/2023 10:47

RideACockHorseToSunburyCross · 09/04/2023 09:37

Why won't you tell us the song?

Read the bloody thread before criticising.

Repeated phrases for emphasis, is a perfectly valid stylistic choice and is grammatically fine.

Yawn 🥱

PrettyMaybug · 09/04/2023 11:22

@JJ456 YANBU!!!

Completely shitty thing to do. On ANY day. No-one should be able to hear your music outside of your house. Probably the same kind of asshole who lets their dog shit all over the footpaths, and throws rubbish out of the car window into the hedges, and aims at pheasants and squirrels crossing the road. It's usually this same kind of twat who plays loud music in their house!

I am livid right now too! So is DH. For some inexplicable reason, one of our neighbours that lives 3 or 4 doors up felt the need to knock on our front door this morning, and WAKE US UP - (a man aged late 50s, who lives with his wife.) He knocked at 8:25 AM! DH answered - as he thought it may be an emergency. (He had sleepy eyes and was a bit dopey as we didn't get to bed til 2am as we went to a party and had a few drinks.)

This neighbour woke us at 8.25 AM on EASTER SUNDAY to ask if we have got any fucking mustard! For their roast meal at lunchtime.

I'm absolutely livid. Waking people up at 8:25 AM Easter Sunday to ask if we have any mustard!!! Go to the fucking shops. There's always at least a couple of shops open in town on any Christmas Day or Easter Sunday. What kind of utter c*nt wakes people at 8.25 AM on Easter SUNDAY to see if they've got any mustard?!

We are livid too, and feel like walking past their door at 2am one day, and banging it loud to wake them! See how they like being woken from deep slumber. Probably do it 2am Christmas day! Hmm

IrisAtwood · 09/04/2023 11:26

An ´Easter tradition’ ? What are they playing? Monty Python’s Always Look on the BrightSide of Life from Life of Brian?

IrisAtwood · 09/04/2023 11:29

I like the clarity of ´8am Sunday morning.´ Some people don’t understand am/pm.
And it is also very boring (and rude) to correct other:s posts.

Chateaulaohshit · 09/04/2023 11:30

If it was “Hop little Bunnies” it was us enjoying waking our teenagers up…

”See the little bunnies sleeping till it’s noon, can we wake them with our merry tune…

Oh how still, are they ill…

Wake up soon.”

Much more relatable than when they were 3!!

Playing Ace of Base 'I Saw the Sign' on repeat got a neighbour of mine stabbed to death in New Zealand. Not by us.

Dammit, this song is playing in my head now, I hadn't heard or thought about it for years😂

No. They are playing a gospel song in a language other than English.

What song is it? 《 misses point of thread 》

YANBU anyway, no!

My first thought.

Don’t know why but I imagined ‘Ride On Time’ by Blackbox…

I think it’s not so bad if it’s annual but, in return, do give them a blasting of the above banger tonight… 😉

highdaysandholudays · 09/04/2023 11:50

Life is demanding without understanding

Limetart · 09/04/2023 11:52

It will be a song about Jesus has risen.
You could always play the national anthem loudly on May 6th.

It's not clarity, it's an unnecessary repetition.

I'll bet you say "PIN number" and "ATM machine" as well.

DrPrunesquallor · 09/04/2023 11:54

We had the bell ringers at the church going full throttle for three hours from 7:30 am.
If it’s gospel music guessing they’re missing the bells and it’s all about Easter.

Everyone says PIN number. No one says ATM machine.
