... to put cat shit through next door's letterbox?

It's in poo bags!

I've just cut some of the grass for the first time, and have picked up 3 lots of cat shit from an area of lawn about 30' x 15'. I know it's from next door's cat, one lot was in the spot where I saw the beast squatting for a leisurely dump this morning, and the other 2 lots are identical in size, shape and consistency, plus their cat is the only one that dares to linger in my garden.

And we never speak, so it's not as though I'd be damaging our relationship, because we don't have one. Mr NDN has never spoken a civil work to me in the 30 years I've lived here.

I tried stopping their pocketing money but to no avail. One has to respect the ‘does not give a feck’ attitude of the feline.

I'm curious how you're supposed to stop your cat from pooing in other peoples garden? Do you give it a good talking to?

You write the instructions down and get it to copy it out a 100 times!

Have you tried turning off the internet? No screen time?

Cosycover · 04/04/2023 19:12

Just tell the cat to stop.

Faz469 · 04/04/2023 19:17

We bought one of these last summer. Neighbours cats have never been in the garden since 🙄🙂

@MrsMischiefOnTour so caging it into a tiny space? How mean

WildAloofRebel · 04/04/2023 19:21

Faz469 · 04/04/2023 19:17

Except loads of fully grown adults can hear those, so pretty anti-social.

Mamamia32 · 04/04/2023 19:37

I get that it's annoying but short of getting rid of the cat or locking it inside (which is cruel imo) there's literally nothing they can do about it. My cat is litter trained but will still go outside most days, and I've no idea where.

It's up to you to catch it in the act and squirt it with water/chase it out of your garden. If you can even be sure it's the cat you think it is.

Xjshdvf · 04/04/2023 16:12

But they can’t do anything about it; what do you really expect from them?

They can keep the cat indoors. Problem solved.

Rocket science it is not!

Pubesofsoberness · 04/04/2023 20:07

Faz469 · 04/04/2023 19:17

Yeah they hate them. So do most kids and teenagers too 🤣

If I had a problem with other people's cats I'd just go and get one of those. Not post shit through someone's letter box

How on earth can i stop my cat from climbing the tree then jumping down into the next garden ?

Untitledsquatboulder · 04/04/2023 20:25

CleaningOutMyCloset · 04/04/2023 18:43

Go round and talk to them. I did exactly this with my ndn and she bought me Lion Poo to put in my garden, it stops cats coming into your garden. Try talking first, if that doesn't work start slinging it back over the fence

How is putting big cat shit in your garden to keep out small cat shit a solution? I've been a lion keeper, lion shit stinks.

Snugglemonkey · 04/04/2023 20:32

Badbudgeter · 04/04/2023 15:58

I wouldn’t but I would leave them on his front door step with a note. I do know someone who keeps a cat poo shovel and flicks it over the garden fence to where the cat lives.

I think this is fair enough. Not through the door though. That is an open declaration of war.

biddyboo · 04/04/2023 20:36

I go outside with poo bags every morning to pick up hedgehog poo. They are all out of hibernation now so there is loads every morning. We have a huge flock of starlings that visit our garden and they poo EVERYWHERE. If there was cat poo I would just pick that up and bin it too. It's not a big deal. Yabu.

ilovewispas · 04/04/2023 20:40

This has to be a joke.

Only an insane person would seriously think a cat owner can control where a cat goes to the toilet and that it's reasonable to therefore put poo through a letter box.

biddyboo · 04/04/2023 20:40

Also, hedgehog poo doesn't look dissimilar to cat poo. I wouldn't be surprised if it is sometimes hedgehog poo that people and blame cats for. Most cats are pretty discrete and won't go on an open lawn, but hedgehogs wills poo anywhere.

AnneElliott · 04/04/2023 20:42

YABU. Put it on the bin. And get a super soaker by the back door and give the cat a shower next time he comes over.

CleaningOutMyCloset · 04/04/2023 20:43

@Untitledsquatboulder it’s dried lion shit, comes in pellet form

How big are these hedgehogs? Shock

biddyboo · 04/04/2023 20:46

Ha ha not big but they are poo machines 😆 I love them though. My cat is small, and her poo isn't that much bigger.

Antiquiteas · 04/04/2023 20:48

ArDi · 04/04/2023 18:45

No, he didn't kick the cat hard. He shoved it with his foot. No animals were harmed in the making of my anecdote.

Mmm hmm…

”aimed a kick at him, hoping his swinging leg would scare the brute away. Unfortunately (for both parties, as DH has never quite recovered from the guilt) the cat was so engaged in its ablutions that it failed to register the danger, and DH's foot connected firmly with kitty's behind, hoofing him across the lawn and over the shrubbery, never to return.”

JerkintheMerkin · 04/04/2023 20:49

I chuck the poo back over the fence. No qualms whatsoever. I even have a special scoop. Am going to war now though as I've had a new lawn laid Grin. My motion water sensor will be put up tomorrow.

WildFlowerBees · 04/04/2023 20:51

Post it in Tiffany boxes.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10637357/Australias-new-cat-curfew-ban-pets-going-outside.html

It can be done. Your choice to have a pet cat then your responsibility to ensure it doesn't shit in others gardens - how you achieve that is up to you. Cats can live perfectly happily as house cats.
You'd be up in arms if people just let their dogs roam the streets shitting where they like.

Australia's new 24-hour 'cat curfew' will ban pets from going outside

Research recently found as many as three million mammals, two million reptiles and one million marsupials are dying every day in Australia from feral and pet cat attacks.
