... to put cat shit through next door's letterbox?

It's in poo bags!

I've just cut some of the grass for the first time, and have picked up 3 lots of cat shit from an area of lawn about 30' x 15'. I know it's from next door's cat, one lot was in the spot where I saw the beast squatting for a leisurely dump this morning, and the other 2 lots are identical in size, shape and consistency, plus their cat is the only one that dares to linger in my garden.

And we never speak, so it's not as though I'd be damaging our relationship, because we don't have one. Mr NDN has never spoken a civil work to me in the 30 years I've lived here.

What do you do if a bird shits in your garden? Roll it up and fling it back in the sky??

I know someone who cut down no less than four stunning mature trees from the edges of their garden (one rechinicalt was a neoghbour’s!) because pigeons pooed on their lawn. It was criminal. Their neighbours were furious as suddenly no one had any lovely natural shelter and shade, wildlife (namely garden birds’) habitats were wiped out, the birds all but disappeared and they could all see into each other’s bathrooms.

@Antiquiteas oh my god 😂

Some cats will bury it in soil but any I have seen will just do it on grass and walk away and leave it. My neighbour had a dozen on her grass she had hoped was from a fox. Her wildlife camera showed it was cats. She’s had to stop feeding the hedgehogs because the cats were getting in there first. They’ve tried coming into mine but my dog is a champion cat spotter.

Considering dogs used to roam and are now walked on a lead, I don’t see how it should be any different for cats. I’ve seen responsible people walk their cats on a lead. People complaining about having their cats confined to their own garden are obviously too lazy for a pet and don’t want to walk it or pick up after it.

I've one of those weird cats that doesn't actually bury her poo, but spends five minutes scraping noisily at the litter tray sides instead.

Get a water pistol.

Animals poo outside get over it.

This. Why escalate an issue

Cat poo is truly one of the worst smelling shits out there. And let’s be honest, none of them are great.

None are great no, but having had a dog with a penchant for rolling in shit, fox was most definitely the worst. 😂

Nobody owns the birds though. They are wildlife rather than domestic pets which someone has made a choice to own.

I personally do think cats should be fully secured in their owner’s garden and home. I do not think they should be free roaming. Firstly as they are a menace to other people and secondly because they run between cars or sit under them and end up ran over or get into other preventable situations.

Whilst living at my previous address, my husband was giving the garden a once over and locking up the garage as we were going on holiday. I was inside cleaning the house. All packed and excited, we left that afternoon and headed down to Heathrow.

We were away for 5 weeks.

On return, we noticed fliers had been put through our letterbox and were taped to the lamp posts, with a photo of a missing cat. We didn’t think much of it and unpacked, the. went to bed after a long flight.

The next day, DH went to tidy up our overgrown grass and came in dismayed as he’d found the cat. It had been locked in our garage poor thing.

We contacted the owners who were obviously upset, but confusingly were also extremely angry with us.

But, do you know what could have avoided this happening? Keeping the cat safely at home with it’s human family. Not a nice thing to come home from holiday to.
