I've been thinking about the typical Mumsnet poster and I'm thinking it would typically be the mum in the 'Outnumbered' family -

Middle class

Living in London

Living in traditional house as opposed to on an estate

Nope.

AlexaFeedMyKids · 28/03/2023 17:47

Nope.

BakedTattie · 28/03/2023 17:47

No

moggerhanger · 28/03/2023 17:48

One out of three.

Plexie · 28/03/2023 17:48

There's no such thing as a 'typical' poster.

PussBilledDuckyPlait · 28/03/2023 17:48

I live in a traditional house, but I don't fulfil the other criteria.

ApolloandDaphne · 28/03/2023 17:49

Me neither. Actually I think I am middle
class now. But neither of the other two apply. I don't think there is a typical MNetter. I think we come from a huge variety of places and backgrounds with all different life experience. That's what I like about it.

TrombonesAreNotBones · 28/03/2023 17:50

No.

Woodywasatwat · 28/03/2023 17:51

Yes, that was once me. Although, the victorian terrace was rented and housing benefit topped up my crap wages 🤣

I got priced out of London and no live in a dive where my next door neighbours on both sides are drug dealers.

I am sill middle class though. Phew.

DogsDryWineAndCheese · 28/03/2023 17:51

1.5.
I see myself as both working class and middle class and I don’t live anywhere near London!

Eightiesgirl · 28/03/2023 17:51

No, definitely not. I'm a working class, middle aged Northerner, living on an estate.

LlamaFace19 · 28/03/2023 17:51

0 out of 3 for me.

Sparklesocks · 28/03/2023 17:52

There are so many posters on here that I don’t think you could guess a ‘typical’ type.

Inthedarkagain · 28/03/2023 17:52

I expect some of what you described is true in some cases, but I think there are lots of people who pretend to be a typical MC MNer and are far from it.

Inthedarkagain · 28/03/2023 17:54

Besides that I think the middle classes are rapidly shrinking anyway

YewandOak · 28/03/2023 17:54

Working Class
Living in the South West
On an estate

Inthedarkagain · 28/03/2023 17:55

And nobody earns an average income on here. Either very poor or 150k household income but 'struggling'

None of the above for me.

Leakingtoilet · 28/03/2023 17:58

Working class (but parents are middle class) earning 30k
Living in East of England in a small rented terrace house, not on an estate.

Rowthe · 28/03/2023 17:58

By estate do you mean council estate or one of those posh ones?

tuvamoodyson · 28/03/2023 17:59

I don’t live in London…

FfeminyddCymraeg · 28/03/2023 17:59

None of the above 😁

Rowthe · 28/03/2023 17:59

Anyway I dont think I'm your target market

evtheria · 28/03/2023 17:59

Nope!

BaileysBreakfast · 28/03/2023 18:00

Yes to all three. Not quite sure why I think I’m middle class when I work like a donkey and never have enough money to go on holiday but I still think I’m middle class. Mainly because I like R3 and R4 and 19th century literature I think 🤔
