Waters broke 14 weeks is there any hope?

I think my waters broke and I'm only 14 weeks along, i was stood in the kitchen and all of a sudden there was a load of bloody liquid like wee but I wasn't weeing. Maternity unit wouldn't see me because I was less than 18 weeks and EPU is shut so they told me to ring 111 who said go to A&E so now I'm sat in A&E.

There is no hope for the baby though right? :( I have had 3 miscarriages and when this one got to 12 weeks and everything looked OK I stupidly began to relax.

Everything crossed for you x

Thoughts & prayers are with you. Do the doctors know why this is happening? My friend lost 2 babies at 6 months and then she had 2 beautiful babies because she was given hormones.
However, there is hope for this little one, https://www.little-heartbeats.org.uk/ look at the success stories. Sadly, no-one can guarantee the end result. I hope that your baby will be one of them.

I, like the hundreds of other women on this thread, am wishing you the absolute best. A huge hug from me.

If you like -

Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in imagine white light coming into your body, through your breath. Breathe deeply and send the white light down to your abdomen and breathe the white light there.

Breathe out and release any thoughts or stress.

And then breathe in again and send the white light through your chest, down your front, and fill your abdomen. Xx

Wagsandclaws · 26/03/2023 22:57

Good luck op, I do hope you get to see a dr soon.

I echo what pp said upthread. Ask about infection risk and if you need antibiotics.

Plock · 26/03/2023 23:01

Am thinking of you. I have been there with multiple miscarriages x

CatherineCarwoodgoals · 26/03/2023 23:14

I had a very bad bleed at 14 weeks and like you had three miscarriages before. I went to A&E and was kept in overnight as they were worried about the amount of blood. I was told that night I was losing my baby. My baby is now nearly 9 - I hope for a happy ending for you

Big hand hold from me too xx

hopsalong · 26/03/2023 23:29

Another handhold.
You hadn't recently had a bath, had you? I had small amounts of intermittent bleeding throughout pregnancy #1 (he ended up having to be dragged out by forceps in a c-section at 42 weeks) and once went to A&E at about 20 weeks after I had a gush of bloody water much as you describe. The bleeding is obviously concerning. In my case the water was just bath water. I'm not sure (though no medical professional) that you would even have enough amniotic fluid at 14 weeks to cause a significant gush. It says online that there is about 100ml at 13 weeks, but that is only 1/5 of a small bottle of water, so maybe the water has another source?

Sending a handhold. Is your partner with you?

@Usercmee
Please report your post and ask MNHQ to move it to somewhere appropriate - you have posted on a very sensitive thread where a woman has posted as she finds out whether there is a problem with her pregnancy.

Still waiting for the doctor. Tired now. And this chair is getting more and more uncomfortable. There seems to have been some sort of mix up, A&E were waiting for gynae to come down and gynae were waiting for a urine test that was never done. Had urine test now so hopefully things start moving

@Usercmee
YANBU to want nice things for your birthday, YABU to expect your husband to suddenly change, if he has never been arsed he isn't suddenly going to be arsed. Sorry.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes and positive stories, hopefully I have news soon.
