Waters broke 14 weeks is there any hope?

I think my waters broke and I'm only 14 weeks along, i was stood in the kitchen and all of a sudden there was a load of bloody liquid like wee but I wasn't weeing. Maternity unit wouldn't see me because I was less than 18 weeks and EPU is shut so they told me to ring 111 who said go to A&E so now I'm sat in A&E.

There is no hope for the baby though right? :( I have had 3 miscarriages and when this one got to 12 weeks and everything looked OK I stupidly began to relax.

The best update!!! Take care OP ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

minipie · 27/03/2023 12:41

Oh my goodness I am so pleased for you. Fingers crossed it all goes to plan from now on. I have heard of water leaks that ‘heal’ themselves somehow so I hope that is the case for you.

I hope you can get some extra monitoring due to this and your MC history.

ohdelay · 27/03/2023 12:42

Wishing you all the best OP. My mum had something similar in terms of bleeding with my older brother where it turned out she had unknowingly been carrying twins and lost one. Was very bittersweet.

Hello everyone

I have had my scan, baby is fine!! Which is obviously great news but I think I am just in shock I honestly thought there was no hope.

I have been admitted to the EPU for monitoring and they think what happened yesterday was just a water leak rather than losing everything and they can't really explain why and that the bleeding this morning was just because of them swabbing my cervix yesterday.

Thank you so much to everyone on here and fingers crossed everything stays OK

Oh my word! That's wonderful news!! 💙

EmotionalSupportWyrm · 27/03/2023 12:55

oh that's great news!

CellophaneFlower · 27/03/2023 12:55

Fantastic news! I was going to post earlier, but didn't want to give false hope, but I was always told bleeding is more concerning if accompanied with pain.

My sister lost water continuously through her pregnancy. All was well, and still lots there at birth! As PP's have said, it replenishes.

Wishing you a healthy pregnancy.

Kerrylass · 27/03/2023 12:56

Just came accross your post this morning and was so invested in the outcome. I must have checked for an update at least 5 times! So pleased for you. I hope it will all work out

Cakeorchocolate · 27/03/2023 12:58

Been keeping an eye on your updates. So pleased you got a scan today and reassurance that all is well.

I'm also 14 weeks and can imagine how distressed I would have been in your situation.

Pregnancy is a little scary. So much going on all the time and so little monitoring of it. A & E feels like the wrong place to be when you know its something to do with Pregnancy. I had to go in when I was 5-6 weeks. The day I found out I was pregnant. I had abdominal pain and I have a blocked fallopian tube. I had to wait 3 days for a scan to confirm it wasn't an ectopic.

Hope all stays well for you.
