Why is everything about suing these days?
He’s saying she crashed into him whilst being distracted by her kids. So it was an accident then? It’s not like she ploughed into him on purpose or crashed into him whilst drunk or high … it was an accident

She’s saying he crashed into her by accident and is counter suing him.

AIBU to think this whole suing culture for genuine accidents needs to stop?

Just watched it, I didn't realise they would come back so quickly.

For me, GP ski instructor was a really credible witness.

If I was on the jury, I would agree GP wasn't at fault and it was Sanderson who caused the accident.

That said, I do feel sorry for Sanderson. It must be hard to go through memory deterioration as you age and I can understand you want someone to blame.

DH watched a bit, said TS was completely not credible witness. The 30 seconds I watched , TS just meandered constantly, he would be frustrating to listen to closely. I wonder if he came across as a guy who was inventing alternative reality.

I feel a bit sorry for him. He's fixated on the accident as the cause of his problems and can't let go.

Wanttobeyou · 31/03/2023 08:15

Definitely the right outcome. I think he convinced himself that a different version of reality happened, but then I wonder if he would have sued if she wasn't rich and famous. Unlikely.

She came across very well, and it was kind of her to wish him well.

I think she handled it with grace all things considered

he sadly isn’t facing his ageing well

Butitsnotfunnyisititsserious · 31/03/2023 09:20

Definitely the right verdict, he was just out for cash. Seeing all the holidays he's been on / activities he's done, makes me think he was never as hurt as he made out. He wanted a payout. He crashed into her, that's his own error.

A man in his 70s could have broken ribs in a fall with no one else involved.

I broke mine coughing with covid.

Oblomov23 · 31/03/2023 12:12

Not surprised at verdict.

It does seem like he can't accept he is aging. He lived well for a few years after the collision but now in the last couple of years does seem to have become obsessed with the idea that somehow what happened years ago must have caused his current issues. It seems age caught up with him after a busy life of adventure and he isn't adjusting well to the change.

Oblomov23 · 31/03/2023 12:28

I don't feel sorry for him at all.

Mirabai · 31/03/2023 12:56

Quite apart from the testimony of the ski instructor, who seemed a mature, reliable type character. The history of Sanderson’s health issues sunk his case. He actually shouldn’t have been in the slopes at all and if he hadn’t crashed into GP it would have been someone else.

There were some weird moments of this trial.

Ramon (Sanderson friend/witness) - he said the "Coldplay guy" was there. I can't imagine GP new husband will be impressed with this. 😁

Kristina (one of Sanderson lawyers, can't remember her name)- she was so smulchy/ star struck over GP. It was so weird.

Sanderson - became a bit QAnom at one stage. He said celebrities had to be held responsible for thier actions - which is fine - but then started a going on about young children being molested on islands..... I don't think this helped.
