Am I being lazy? Washing my child

I take my child swimming at least once a week, often twice, and afterwards I shower him and wash his hair. But I’ve let myself slip into lazy ways of not always bathing him at home, without fail, every week. He’s probably not teaching neglected levels of unclean, but equally I’m not teaching him personal hygiene. I have ADHD and come from a slightly chaotic home environment myself. Do other mums sometimes skip bath times if their child is going swimming? Yes = YANBU

If it helps to make a routine - My kids have a quick bath every night straight after dinner, it takes 10 mins. I wash their hair Wednesdays and Sundays. On Sundays after the bath we cut their finger and toe nails. They are 5 and 8.

My son (5) has had his leg in a cast for 12 weeks (treatment for club feet). He gets a bath once a week (palaver as I need to put a plastic thing over the cast and it's not easy/risk of the cast getting wet and putting the treatment back. He's fine and washes at the sink every other day, he definitely doesn't smell/isn't unclean.
Since we have had to do this, I've noticed his skin is in much better condition. (Previous to this we bathed every night)

This thread is eye opening and very useful. There are a lot of disgusting people out there. Definitely won’t be using any public swimming pools/hot tubs again.

I bath mine every day just for the sake of routine. Done this from him being little. It'll help when he gets older and needs to do it everyday

2 baths with hair washed and 2 showers without washing hair a week. Dd has curly hair and it's not recommended to wash it more than twice a week as it dries out. The other 3 days are in-between days where she just needs a quick wipe with a wash cloth etc

I have one child with ringlet hair and it was recommended that washing it was once a fortnight, and during puberty and teenage ‘oily’ years, once a week.
