Fed up with cracking the Enigma code on threads

Does anyone else get fed up with people writing posts with so many confusing abbreviations on here . I’m fed up with them . Can people not just write in English . Even common ones like dh ? Is that direct husband , dickhead husband , dead husband ?? Drives me nuts . Just put husband . There’s loads .
ds , dh, dm , nc , lc , and on and on and on . Even read one today that was gsd ? I thought I’d that a good short dance , or gravy so divine, no it’s what German Shepherd dog 😂😂
Just write English for Christ sake .

I always get confused by DF, is it a fiancé or a friend? Then spend half the thread trying to work it out through why they’re saying. It would be much easier if they’d identify the people and then use acronyms

YANBU - usually it's ok but yeah, there was a particularly hard to read post today. AC and AS ??

I think I saw that post and it meant angel son (as in now dead).

It normally becomes clear as you read through the op, but there are times when it just doesn't work; e.g. a thread about a partner not getting on with op's parents when they're both 'DP', was very confusing. Before predictive text it was understandable but it does seem a bit unnecessary now.

They aren't acronyms. They're abbreviations. An acronym is a word formed from the initial letters of a phrase (e.g. NASA, AIDS). There is no way of pronouncing DD as a word, so it is not an acronym.

Dear Husband (or any of the others, dear daughter in your example) is a phrase though?

An acronym can be pronounced as a word (AIDS, NATO, NASA etc), an initialisation cannot. Ergo, they’re initialisations.
