Just to balance out all the posters who are disappointed with the sex of their babies (and 99% of the time it's having a boy).

I say this as someone who was disappointed about finding out I was having a boy.

But I was totally wrong (obviously).

He is the funniest, chattiest, most affectionate thing and I feel like going to wake him up right now to kiss him.

My "boy " is 22, always been a good hearted soul but is also hilarious , bright , loyal and I'm really grateful i got to be his mum

My DS1 is 3 years old, and the sweetest, funniest, smartest, toughest little guy in the world. His laugh is uproarious, his banger hilarious, I could waffle on an on about how fabulous a little human he is... He loves glitter and princesses as much as mud and cars. No gender stereotyping allowed in this house!
DS2 would be 2 now, he was a stillborn lockdown baby so he feels like mine alone. He has raised tens of thousands of pounds for charity via the absolute perfection of his beautiful little face (and DHs bloody mindedness!). I'm so proud of my angel boy.
DS3 is 6 months and shaping up nicely. I adore every hair on his fuzzy wee head. His chubby smiles, the very important little chats we have... Can't wait to find out who he is.
I can't believe my luck to have my three boys!

💙

I've got 4 sons (I gave up trying for a girl) Ds1 is very political, a commited trade unionist, I admire his passion and priciples.
DS2, the long distance runner, I admire his talent his competative streak, his energy and his medals😂
DS3 & DS4 (Twins) They have provided me with wonderful daughter-in-Laws.

I would love them even more if they would produce some grandchildren!! (But I don't tell them this)

My son has just turned 14. He is the most easy going, no drama child. He mostly hides out in his room and emerges only for bacon and cups of tea but will occasionally just reel off information about his life which I hang off every snippet of lol. He is my biggest supporter. I'm big into crafting and every time I make anything he wants to see and tells me how I should be making money off it. He is too cool for hugs but if I ask he will give me a cuddle, no embarrassment. He's just started to learn guitar and is discovering bands I used to love in my teens. It's just wonderful. He saves up his pocket money to buy me birthday, mother's day and Christmas gifts. He is my eldest and only boy, I hold a special place in my heart for him. He is such an incredible kid. Boys just love their mams.

Tessisme · 09/03/2023 06:33

I was a little disappointed when I found out I was having a boy, but I adjusted very quickly, even before he was born. He is 14 now and a lovely, smart, gentle boy, whose love of 'shiny stuff' has stayed with him from early childhood. I was so delighted with him that I wanted another boy and was lucky enough to have one. He's my affectionate one and a little clown who is very competitive and methodical and works really hard at school, even though he hates it!

jobadoo · 09/03/2023 06:48

lovely thread
also two boys here and loving every bit of them :)

LuckyThatMyBreastsAreSmallAndHumble · 09/03/2023 07:19

Hugs, humour, kindness, smart, handsome... I could rattle on all day 🤣

Christmasevesofa · 09/03/2023 07:26

My stetson's are almost 18 & 20 and I love that everytime we speak on the phone they never fail to say love you and I love that everytime I see them the first thing they do is give me and DH a big hug. They are typical football crazy "lads lads" but they have always been so lovable and caring. Being their stepmum has been the best thing I've ever done.

SallyWD · 09/03/2023 07:26

Thank you for starting this thread OP. I always feel sad when I read all the posts about gender disappointment (yep always relating to boys!). Lovely to see so much boy appreciation!

Skidamarinkadinkadink · 09/03/2023 07:30

I have a little boy who is 16 months and he is the light of my life. He is super cuddly, and is always toddling over for cuddles and kisses, he’s got the most adorable smile. Plus he LOVES his books at the moment, im constantly getting passed books to read to him. My heart sings when he says Mama to me. x

woodlandtrees · 09/03/2023 07:39

Both at University. They're
Funny
Kind
Intelligent
Sporty
And very very handsome 🤣

Just welling up as really miss them ( except the mess ).

Mayhemmumma · 09/03/2023 07:41

Funny, affectionate, an animal lover, musical and great at making friends. I love him beyond words.

Sockofthefall · 09/03/2023 08:02

Such a lovely thread. I have 3 boys all close in age. They are amazing young men. I wasn’t disappointed that I never had a girl. They speak to me most days, always there for me , plenty of cuddles & laughs. Very protective of me .
It annoys me when a daughter & mother have a great relationship “she is my best friend “ & it is all positive. However, a man who has a close & positive relationship with his mum is called a “ mummy’s boy”.

I feel very lucky to have them in my life! We still all holiday together with partners. They’re not perfect with each other but always manage their differences well.

im very lucky 🤗

Very good point about the mummy's boy comment!

I agree this is something that irritates me.

We get out what we put into relationships so I'm going to make sure that input everything I can into my relationship with my boys and hopefully we can always be close ♥️

DuvetDownn · 09/03/2023 08:46

I have three!
So kind, funny, intelligent, handsome, all different in their own way.
I absolutely love being the only female in our household, I feel very special.
My boys have been very easy to look after, plenty of food and gaming opportunities has been my approach.

Sceptre86 · 09/03/2023 08:54

These threads always turn in to a comparison of having girls. Not all girls are bitchy, complicated and hard work. As a mum with a boy and girls I can say that my boy is full of energy, has quite a witty personality, is very affectionate, thoughtful and follows me around more than his sisters do. He's 5. I'm under no illusion that his personality will grow and develop.

Newmum110 · 09/03/2023 08:56

Everything

Abouttimemum · 09/03/2023 08:57

He’s 3, never stops talking, always wants cuddles and says the most adorable things. He’s funny, inquisitive and just so bloody cute!

BTW I was delighted I was having a boy 😂 which goes against the grain I think!

OttersMayHaveShiftedInTransit · 09/03/2023 09:07

Off the back of this thread as I waived mine off to school today I said "You do know that I love you don't you?" His reply was "this is not breaking news. Love you too Mum" and he gave me a big hug.

cheapskatemum · 09/03/2023 09:42

4 DSs

DS1: his bright red hair, boundless energy & how quick he is at picking up new concepts & his ability to memorise phone numbers, scripts, lyrics etc
DS2: his sense of fun, his disarming smile & his love of water & therefore swimming, sailing etc
DS3: his willingness to learn, his easy going, sociable & affable nature, his love of dancing & loyalty to friends
DS4: his cooking, his dry sense of humour, his sports knowledge.

All are foodies & love music.

Ikeatears · 09/03/2023 12:00

At 20, 17 and 12, the relationship they have with each other. They have such a laugh together, independent of me and dh (in fact, can quite often be at our expense Confused)and it's a joy to see.

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 09/03/2023 12:16

16 is great company, funny, sarcastic humour, kind, brilliant with young kids, still gives good hugs.

11 is a joy, finds beauty in all things, notices the smallest details. He'll be the one who knows the species of bird, the emerging bids on the trees or who will just stop to look at the view. Plus he's so, so snuggly.

14 is a girl but doesn't seem right to say how fab the others are and leave her out. Very clever, deep thinker, a planner. Not at all tactile, quite prickly but affection is shown in other ways. Often chocolate cake related.

Pinkplasticbathcup · 09/03/2023 12:16

This thread is just so beautiful ❤️

DS is nearly two. He loves glitter, Peppa, music and adores the Hokey Cokey. We have to do the Hokey Cokey at 6am when we all wake up 🙈

Walks take forever as we stop and examine every tiny thing along the way. My daily reminder that life is about the journey, not the destination.

incitethismeetingtorebellion · 09/03/2023 12:22

He's just about to turn 1 so is discovering everything for the first time. Everytime he does something new he has the most infectious laugh, a proper cackle. He's so affectionate, always staggering over for a cuddle. When I ask for a kiss he opens his mouth wide and lunges at me leaving a trail of slobber and snot all down my cheek. He's just gorgeous in every way (I admit I'm biased but I'm not wrong)

dottiedodah · 09/03/2023 12:40

My Son is great! Clever funny and kind .We have long conversations and he is very knowledgeable about many things .Just all good!
