UK would be a pushover if Putin invaded

AIBU to think the UK population would be too busy fretting about rude receptionists, grousing about trans issues and spying on their possible benefit-fraudster neighbours to put up any meaningful resistance to a Russian invasion? It's hard to imagine people coming together in any significant degree.

Whereas all other countries never have contraversial or divisive issues, and that means they would definitely be better at fighting off a hypothetical Putin invasion.

They don't, though; I have lived in several countries, and the UK is unique among them in this regard.

British life wasn’t a cohesive bed of roses prior to WW2.
We were at threat of invasion, people rose to it, came together, and they would again.

On the one hand, yes, I think you're right. Few of know how to use a gun and our armed forces are tiny now.

On the other hand, it's always a bit tricky invading an island. The last time we were successfully invaded was 1066.

Lots of arguing over even if it was an evasion, how it’s the Tory’s fault fir doing/ not doing x,y and z and how we wouldn’t have been invaded if it wasn’t for Brexit.
