Your only as old as you feel, as long as you like it then I'd say wear it,

I love it. Go for it. I'd cast a critical eye at myself wearing it in daylight in front of a mirror before hand, but ultimately what the hell if you feel good you'll probably look great.

Frankly not keen on the shoes. They look a bit dated to me . But if you like your sister's style she could give you the last word on that. Listen to her.

I like the playsuit but I’d go for a more retro, chunky heel.

Something like a Terry De Havilland ‘Zia’

You do need good legs for shorts but that’s not necessarily an age thing.

I've just scrolled all the way because because when a few people said OP has the figure for it, I thought I'd missed a photo!

Unless the assumption is that she has because she's a size 8 but that doesn't really make sense.

It isn't my cup of tea, but that's nothing to do with you being 50 (so am I, btw). I'd have thought it was tasteless even when I was 20 so we clearly have different styles.

Go for it, you will look great. I’m 50 next month and similar size and height as you but don’t have much confidence to wear something like that but I do think it’s fabulous and I love the shoes. If you have the confidence then definitely go for it.

The chunky heels look more comfortable and more modern than the old fashioned pointed style in the OP.

I didnt ask if it was tacky, tarty, tasteless, uncomfortable etc....I asked if I am too old to wear this.

Majority seem to think I am not so I will see what my v v stylish sister says and go with that!

It's a great dress for a big birthday bash in a fancy place with drinks involved, problem is it's the type of thing only looks good on slender types with toned bodies. If that's you then go for it! It's definitely not an easy outfit to pull off.

Lots of people think women our age should crawl into a cardigan and die quietly - no - wear the sparkly playsuit and the FM shoes and have fun

Definitely wear it, you will look and feel stunning. Personally I'd wear it either with silver Superga trainers (I like to dance) or something like these:

First time for everything - just take the shoes off half way through the evening!
