Does anyone remember coloured toilet paper? Any other random disappearances?

Just this really.

I have recollections of toilet paper being available in lilac, mint, peach, baby blue. My husband thinks in lying.

its now white. I’m not sure when the colours disappeared.

I'd love some lilac loo roll to brighten up the day. I realise that this is a non-problem but I’m bored and have had a glass of wine (or two).

Has anyone got any other random disappearances that cannot be explained?

VO5 hot oil. They were little tubes you’d put in warm water to heat them up and then squeeze them on your hair. I wanted them so bad as a kid because the adverts made them seem so glam.

I loved this! Made my hair feel so soft and shiny

Anyone remember Cussons Imperial Leather which not only came in the original creamy colour but pink and blue?

My mother used to buy it to match the pink bathroom.

I do! It had a little label on that didn't come off as you used it

Renova also have ‘the sexiest toilet on earth’ in Lisbon, showcasing their range of colours….

You select your preferred colour before entering your cubicle! You have to pay to go in, but I couldn’t resist! There’s also a gift shop!

Camay and lux soap.

Mum roll-on
A ladies razor whose components came apart to fit in a little plastic box. The razor blades came wrapped in flowery paper. They came in colours to match the coloured bathrooms.
Germolene - also matched a pink bathroom.

Coloured bathroom suites have also disappeared. Maybe that’s why?

Oh my gosh - the Vo5 tubes. I was definitely intending to buy those when I grew up.

The other thing I remember that I can’t find now I am an adult is very, very thin writing paper - I think it was called Onion skin paper and there were two types (maybe different thicknesses?) one with a blue cover and one with a red.

I think it was for sending airmail letters when that was pretty much the main way of keeping in touch with relatives abroad - phone was too expensive.

"I must say that I take my hat off to Sainsbury's, they seem to attract a better class of person. I saw a vicar choosing toilet paper; he chose a four-roll pack of purple three-ply. He must have money to burn! He could have bought some shiny white and given the difference to the poor. What a hypocrite!"

Purple?

Was it Lent? Or Advent?

If not he was well out of order.

I also remember the medicated loo roll my granda had that came in a wee box, it was like tracing paper.

Izal - horrible stuff. Totally non-absorbent. Just slid off your bum!

‘Her husband had taught her to despise coloured toilet paper’…I may have mis quoted but that line from a Joanna Trollope novel. It often springs to mind.
I think it was from ‘The Vicars Wife’
When I used to work as a housekeeper I bought some off white toilet paper for the house because I didn’t think it mattered …oh but it did!

You can still get Imperial Leather with its permalinks-label. Haven't seen Camay for a while though.

I used to like Cidal.

I have a totally dried up and unusable tiny tub of that in the bathroom somewhere, along with a nail buffer thingy.

I used to like Neutrogena clear soap. Not sure if you can still get it.
