I was thinking of her the other day, what ever happened to her? It's like she fell of the face of the earth. When she was married to Paul McCartney she was always in the news it seemed.

She opened a vegan cafe at Hove lagoon. It didn't last long and was purchased by Norman Cook aka Fatboy
Slim who lives close by. He can often be found at the front counter serving customers!

I was watching a doc about Paul Heaton last week and it featured a lot of Norman talking about PH. He came across so well in it.

Benjispruce4 · 25/02/2023 21:37

I saw her last year sitting outside a restaurant in Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross.

AmyDudley · 25/02/2023 21:38

Twenty five million is small return for having to listen to Macca warbling Hey Jude 24/7.

Tinner01 · 25/02/2023 21:38

Slightly off topic, but why do relationships with Paul McCartney seem to inspire women to join the animal rights movement?😂

Lifeomars · 25/02/2023 21:44

recall her being a figure of mockery and hatred, I wasn't keen on either of them at the time. I think it is good the way that their daughter has been brought up completely out of the spotlight, was her name, Beatrice?. Just the fact that I cannot recall her name is a good indication that she has been able to have had an anonymous childhood which proves that it can be done

misteek · 25/02/2023 21:46

Hes been a vegetarian for years, Probably owns the Linda Mc Cartney vegetarian food business. Animal rights is probably somebody Married to paul would join in with.

Heather assaulted Paul's lawyer in court! She's not undeserving of some negative press.

Here's a few quotes from the divorce judgment:

"I have to say that the wife's evidence that in some way she was the husband's "psychologist", even allowing for hyperbole, is typical of her make-belief."

"I am afraid I have to say her case on this issue is devoid of reality."

"In my judgment it is unnecessary to go so far as to characterise what the wife attempted as fraudulent. However, it is not an episode that does her any credit whatsoever."

"I accept that since April 2006 the wife has had a bad press. She is entitled to feel that she has been ridiculed even vilified. To some extent she is her own worst enemy. She has an explosive and volatile character. She cannot have done herself any good in the eyes of potential purchasers of her services as a TV presenter, public speaker and a model, by her outbursts in her TV interviews in October and November 2007."

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 25/02/2023 21:47

I saw a picture of Beatrice a year or two ago and there's no denying who her father is. She looks exactly as her dad did in the early days of The Beatles.

He's been an ethical vegetarian since long before it was even acceptable.

I don't get the vitriol toward women who marry wealthy men. It's not like he got nothing out of it. She didn't force him up the aisle. I m sure the fact that she was young and a model had nothing to do with him wanting to be with her. Lets be realistic here, they both got something out of it. He got to parade his trophy and she got a payout. good for her. You couldnt pay me enough to sleep with that wrinkly, self-important raisin.

TheObstinateHeadstrongGirl · 25/02/2023 21:50

ReneBumsWombats · 25/02/2023 20:01

Whatever her faults, she was subjected to an unbelievable amount of highly misogynistic and disablist press back in the day.

And on MN it seems!

If a poster comes on saying they aren’t married and they want kids with their OH, everyone shouts “Do not have kids without marrying him first!!! Protect yourself!!!”

Apparently this doesn’t apply to abusive arseholes who are in a band though, if a woman married to one of them protects herself and her DD then she’s a gold digger and he’s a victim 🙄

I'd do it for 24 million and a live rendition of Back in the USSR.

She didn't just "protect herself" though. She deliberately inflated her personal spending between separation and divorce (spending £3.7m over 15 months) so that she could claim that she needed a greater share of Paul's money.

So what? Good for her I say. He can well afford it and they have a child together - he should WANT his child to continue to live the kind of life he could afford for her if they were together. That’s why there’s no flat rate for child maintenance but it goes off a percentage of earnings.

The character assessment of a judge is not infallible; ultimately it's an opinion. A judge not liking a woman who is prone to 'outbursts' even though he acknowledges 'She is entitled to feel that she has been ridiculed even vilified'. OK then, when we are ridiculed and vilified, we little women should just be quiet and smile sweetly ...

reesewithoutaspoon · 25/02/2023 21:58

oh no. £25 mill out of £800 mill. poor little destitute sausage. How will he feed himself?
Why shouldn't his daughter be raised as she would have if her parents where still together?

Feefee00 · 25/02/2023 22:01

Meh she can't have been that fame hungry. Enjoying the millions and a quiet life.

DorritLittle · 25/02/2023 22:03

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 25/02/2023 21:22

was glued to the divorce case and don’t believe she was without fault at that time.

Is that not par for the course in any non-amicable divorce? Neither party is likely to be at their best. The problem was according to the media, PM was a saint and HM was a she-devil.

I agree the tabloids were nasty. She didn’t deserve that. But Heather didn’t come off at all well in the actual court judgement as described by a pp. Personally I suspect that her anger towards Paul was for good reason. None of the Beatles treated women well.

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 25/02/2023 22:04

£24.3m, plus nanny's salary, plus school fees, plus child maintenance at £35,00 per annum isn't too crappy for a 5 year marriage.

Feefee00 · 25/02/2023 22:05

25 million from 800 million fortune wow that's like nothing to Paul McCartney I really don't get the hate of her. Jeff Bezos ex got 38 billion and she doesn't get any hate.

Living a life of sybaritic wealth, relaxation & luxury, one imagines, on Sir Paul’s money. As was always the plan, of course.

Her money.

Zerrin13 · 25/02/2023 22:07

I'm 57 so I can remember when he was married to his first wife Linda. The abuse that woman suffered at the hands of the press simply for being an American divorcee and not beautiful enough was dreadful. She played in his band Wings and was ridiculed for even daring to think she had any talent. Her vegetarian food range is still in all our shops so someone is making money from it even though she has been dead for years. I think it could be Paul on the receiving end. What Heather received in her divorce settlement is absolutely no ones business but hers. To call her a gold digger is ridiculous. Paul McCartney is an extremely rich man. This woman didn't let losing a leg hold her back in any way.

AlwaysGinPlease · 25/02/2023 22:08

She's a fantastic animals rights advocate. Anyone that suffered that incredible bore Paul McCartney deserved a pay off. She was treated terribly by him, the press. Good for her getting where she is.
