I was thinking of her the other day, what ever happened to her? It's like she fell of the face of the earth. When she was married to Paul McCartney she was always in the news it seemed.

Seems like some woman always has to be a national figure of fun and hate

Yes - especially if the woman is of a race other than white, or disabled.

Bignanny30 · 25/02/2023 20:54

Apparently so 😆

I admire her for her gutsy determination and her honesty.

She dedicates a lot of her time to animal rights advocacy and that makes her a star in my book.

absolutely 👍

I admire her also. And McCartney was horrible to her, according to the court.

The thing about a driven and unyielding personality is that it isn't always going to stop
being driven and unyielding as soon as you want it to.

I think she took herself out of the limelight to quietly raise her daughter and open a vegan cafe, the attention hungry bitch.

She opened a vegan cafe at Hove lagoon. It didn't last long and was purchased by Norman Cook aka Fatboy
Slim who lives close by. He can often be found at the front counter serving customers!

That's so cool, bet he gets the punters in!

I read a book about her life story came across at a thrift shop in my town centre

I call thus thrift shop the alternative book shop ,
as its Christian well known charity shop,

And it sometimes/now and again I have seen kinds of books you wouldn't think you, expect to see at a Christian charity shop, such as book on wicca book, the karma sutura book a couple of times too, 😄

37KAT · 25/02/2023 21:03

@Americano75 he is a bit of a familiar local celebrity and very unassuming. I've seen some people asking for a photo and he will oblige. We are used to seeing him around.
The cafe is called The Big Beach Cafe - possibly unsurprisingly!

Americano75 · 25/02/2023 21:06

@37KAT Love it!

LocSeeTan · 25/02/2023 21:08

My guess is that she's a fantasist.
When she was first in the public spotlight I was amazed at her achievements and down to earth attitude. So altruistic and determined to fight for good causes.
One day I was travelling by coach to see my cousin and she was being interviewed on the radio.
This was before any controversy surrounding her credibility.
A thought struck me that she was talking from a script.....I spot details as I've got ADHD and mild autism.
I thought she's spouting bollocks, why didn't I spot this before.
I wasn't surprised when various stories came out that questioned her numerous stories.

Yes - as soon as the divorce went through everything was locked down in non-disclosure agreements, but some of the allegations against PM were shocking. The press chose to ignore that, or dismiss it.

Livelovebehappy · 25/02/2023 21:12

She has spent a lot of time and effort on helping animals, and for that alone I applaud her….

JaneJeffer · 25/02/2023 21:15

I want to know what the secret she knows is that will come to light should anything happen to her Shock

Endlesssummer2022 · 25/02/2023 21:17

I met her very briefly once and she was really nice and down to earth. Nothing like how she was portrayed.

She was treated awfully by the British press. Our press has to be the worst in the world. So much hate, lies and spite.

ReneBumsWombats · 25/02/2023 21:18

I met a former PR person of hers once.

She said Heather was a good person, very driven and determined, but also really, really wanted to be famous. Although I suppose people who use a PR firm might tend to be like that!

DorritLittle · 25/02/2023 21:19

I was glued to the divorce case and don’t believe she was without fault at that time. She was clearly very angry with McCartney. (I wonder why?) Since then I have read a fair few Beatles books and I am inclined to agree with this:

I think she was too strong for a man who likes to be spoilt and deferred to

PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 25/02/2023 21:22

Is that not par for the course in any non-amicable divorce? Neither party is likely to be at their best. The problem was according to the media, PM was a saint and HM was a she-devil.

adriftabroad · 25/02/2023 21:22

Butchyrestingface · 25/02/2023 20:25

Yes, very inspiring, the way she had to work and slave for years to build up the capital to fund her business venture, the sacrifices she made, the blood, sweat and tears that went into every penny… oh wait.

<Sir Paul has entered the Chat>

😂

Spending her money on the ski slopes, by the looks of it.

Fucking hell, she’s only got one leg!!! If that had happened to me, I doubt I’d be on skis. More likely I’d be shitfaced outside Aldi begging for change.

What she has achieved, by any measure, is amazing.

JaniceBattersby · 25/02/2023 21:25

I have met her several times through work and I’ve always found her to be an absolute delight. Very bright, funny and astute.

I don’t think anybody behaves how they would like to 100% of the time in a messy divorce.

And besides, it wasn’t ‘his’ money, it was their money because it was all in the marital pot. He walked away with a hell of a lot more than her.

Justmeandthedog1 · 25/02/2023 21:27

Don’t particularly like her but 102 mph on skis, that’s amazing.

ReneBumsWombats · 25/02/2023 21:29

He's worth £800 million. For the most part I'd say he's earned it, except he makes $315k every year from Wonderful Christmastime, which shouldn't happen in a just world.

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 25/02/2023 21:34

I'm sure I read that she said she was planning to donate a % of her divorce settlement to some charity but the charity is still waiting for said donation.

Was always fond of a tall tale.

Where in the judgement do you see that? The judge pretty much threw her claims out.
