Recently i noticed some teens with their hands down their Nike Joggers. While i was out.

Then i noticed this on a post on her about the Macdonalds troubles. Nike get up, hand down joggers,

So what does it mean, why have these teenagers got their hand down their joggers? Intrigued in a way.

Itchy balls?

cassiatwenty · 24/02/2023 14:46

YANBU OP, curious to see what others think this is 🥤

JaffaMCCakey · 24/02/2023 14:47

Because Nike joggers are very fashionable for teens and expensive

Oh I thought you meant hand me downs

bellylaughsalldaylong · 24/02/2023 14:48

cold hands?

JaffaMCCakey · 24/02/2023 14:48

I think they’re just checking there bits are perfectly arranged?

cassiatwenty · 24/02/2023 14:48

Hand me downs haha 😱😊

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 24/02/2023 14:48

Jaffa** me too! Very sensible was my initial response Grin

ConfusedNT · 24/02/2023 14:48

teemage lads have put their hands down jogging bottoms for years, I always assume its because they are scared their bits will fall off

JaffaMCCakey · 24/02/2023 14:50

I think it’s a status thing to subconsciously remind others they are a ‘man’

CheapFoodShits · 24/02/2023 14:50

It's not just teens, unfortunately. This has been a "thing" as far as I can remember in my area. Blokes who wear tracksuits/joggers and hang around the streets trying to look hard, even in their late 20's, with their hands in their pants.
Hands must be cold, poor things.

cassiatwenty · 24/02/2023 14:51

LOL @CheapFoodShits

HangingOver · 24/02/2023 14:51

This has been around forever. The boys at my school used to do it to make out they were probably going to end up in jail well 'ard

GneissGuysFinishLast · 24/02/2023 14:52

I’m confused as to the relevance of the brand? They do this in all brands and styles of bottom half garments which have enough room to fit their hands down, and it’s absolutely not a new thing.

Apparently it starts as a comfort thing and then just becomes a habit. It’s not sexual. Well, I assume it is sometimes, but generally it’s just somewhere to put their hands.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 24/02/2023 14:52

They are feeling stressed and reassuring themselves that they still have a penis, because as long as they still have a penis, everything is basically ok.

TheFlis12345 · 24/02/2023 14:53

Eurgh it’s just one of those grim
things idiot immature guys do to look macho, like manspreading on the tube 🙄

cassiatwenty · 24/02/2023 14:53

I just laughed out loud @HangingOver

Love the pirate/Geordie accent thrown in there 🚶‍♂️

singer15 · 24/02/2023 14:55

Lack of support? They need better undergarments and to wash their hands before touching doorknobs, etc.!

Some young men are just odd and gross. Strange how you don't see teenage girls walking around with their hands up under their shirts or down their fronts...

HangingOver · 24/02/2023 14:55

I'm afraid it was an Essex accent Grin And in my day they were those awful Adidas ones with poppers all the way up the side, not Nike's.

Dallimore · 24/02/2023 14:56

I'm intrigued to know what the Macdonalds troubles are?

cassiatwenty · 24/02/2023 14:57

@GneissGuysFinishLast Fair point. Is it a status thing? I gather DC's and Reebok are so last year, and Nike's are for proper blokes only, and investment of sorts

cassiatwenty · 24/02/2023 15:01

@HangingOver Essex even better! Don't mess with Essex Lad Crew ya bint 😳 😉

I saw a BBC docco about three lads hanging around Durham and sharing takes of woe. Proper 'ard, init

I want to know what Macdonald's troubles are too

As a teacher I notice that there is a correlation with general misbehaviour and hand-down-trouser behaviour, however this is probably just because the ones who behave generally are wearing “smart” trousers (aka school uniform) and the ones who misbehave are the ones wearing joggies/shorts, thus have enough room to get their hands down.

I have been assured that their hands are outside their pants though, after raising concerns about hygiene and shared stationery. Which I guess makes it marginally better.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 24/02/2023 15:03

This starts early! A few years ago I was at a swimming pool where Gds (then 3) and 3 or 4 family friends of 4 or 5 max, were standing in their swimmies watching the antics of the bigger kids.

Dd gave me a nudge. ‘Look - they’ve all got a hand down their pants!*. 😂All having a good feel to make sure it was still there.

Guis · 24/02/2023 15:08

Grim and all very sad.
