DP thinks my bag is 'childish and showy'

I'm originally from Sweden and back home people of all ages carry these bags. Last week, I decided to purchase a new Kånken to replace the one I've had for 10 years. Picked this colour (www.fjallraven.com/uk/en-gb/bags-gear/kanken/kanken-bags/kanken-rainbow-mini?v=F23621%3a%3a7323450792466) this time around to replace the black one I had, and DH absolutely hates it. I use it primarily for dog walks and trips to the local cafe/shops and he thinks it's too showy/childish and feels 'embarrassed' when I take it with me when we go out for coffee together.

AIBU to think that it's just a bag? It's not that bad, is it?

I'm 63 and i have a toy story bag my daughter is 32 and she has the same bag as you. How is that childish? He needs to get over himself. I'd be wanting to replace him.

If I got it free or at most a tenner I'd use it. I can't believe the price of things with fash labels anymore. But hey I'm cheap n cheerful, as long as they do the job I'm good.

It's definitely the rainbow straps. That was the first thing I noticed TBH. I don't care about that, but He Who Is Complaining might.

I'm more of a shoe gal than a bag gal but I do like that. It's cute and pretty but not in your face. I would totally ignore DH, he'll get over rit eventually 🤷‍♀️

He's an idiot. The bag is gorgeous. I have much more 'childish' bags (including one shaped like a shark) and my dh loves them and also doesn't care what other people think because he's not an insecure teenager

These bags are great and last for ages. I love bright and fun colours so I think it's amazing.

I don’t like it personally, but that just means I wouldn’t buy it and wear it. You buy and wear what you like and tell him to sod off.

Given that I know adults who wear Disney backpacks and Harry Potter merch, I think this is fine

It's lovely, and it's your bag not his so it doesn't matter what his opinion is. Plus I bet he'd be grateful if he lost you in a crowd!

I carry a Groot Loungefly bag. I also have a Stitch one. My purse is also Loungefly themed to Captain Marvel. I love Loungefly stuff and would have more if I could afford it. Keep doing you and if that means bright cheerful bags then so be it. Sod what anyone else thinks.

Why on earth does he think he has a say in what colour your bag is?! If it expresses your personality, he should support that or shut up. Honestly it sounds quite controlling to have said that to you.

Honestly I think it looks like a kids backpack, however, you should be free to wear whatever you like. If I saw you I’d assume it had your children’s things in it

It’s perfectly nice and you should definitely continue using it, but it does definitely vibe young.

My partner calls mine my foreign exchange student bag, and mine’s not even yellow.
