There's a very good chance they are Russian, @Whammyyammy
www.gov.uk/government/news/uk-exposes-sick-russian-troll-factory-plaguing-social-media-with-kremlin-propaganda
"UK-funded expert research has exposed how the Kremlin is using a troll factory to spread lies on social media and in comment sections of popular website" (my bold)
There's Twitter and Tiktok mass disinformation and propaganda too
www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-02-09/tiktok-reveals-russian-disinfo-network-targeting-european-users#xj4y7vzkg
TikTok Inc. identified a Russian disinformation network spreading war propaganda about Ukraine to more than a hundred thousand European users over the summer, the company disclosed on Thursday.
The network operated in Russia, but targeted mostly people in Germany, Italy and the UK in their respective languages.
and what's really, really, really worrying:
"According to the Intelligence and Security Committee Russia report, released on 21 July 2020, there is substantial evidence that Russian interference in the British economy and politics is commonplace"
(en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_interference_in_British_politics)
There's ways to tell: stock phrases and words that paid Russian propaganda-pushers use, plus a pile of stuff on how awful Zelenskyy is, how terrible and corrupt Ukraine is, how Ukraine never upheld the Minsk agreement (while not acknowledging that Russian never intended to in the first place, as it recently admitted; in fact neither side did, seeing that it rewarded Russia's illegal invasion of Crimea) .. and a pile of other stuff.
Paid propagandists never give a genuine, balanced picture and they consistently provide misinformation eg they go on about Ukraine attacking Donbas (its own region!) without saying that Russia actively encouraged and armed people in the Donbas and told them to attack pro-Ukraine people. The examples go on.
