Boris Johnson wants a 2nd bash at being PM. We wouldn't. Would we?

Today BJ is stirring up the DUP to oppose Sunak's N Ireland proposals, whatever they may be. Surely there can't be a second chance for the idiot responsible for our current mess? There aren't enough stupid people in our country to let him in again I hope. Will he unseat Sunak?

Perfexf illustration of why you are always surprised when people like Boris are voters in. You live in a vacuous echo chamber, and have no real hold on the reasons why people feel differently to you. With such rigidity and a closed mind it looks like you will continue to be ‘surprised’ confine to witter on about the ‘stupidity’ of others still largely ignorant to the reasons the majority of people feel like they to.
The ignorance creates internal conflict with your ego - here the vile diatribe inflicted on others that have the sheer audacity to hold an alternative view to you.
No, you may not throw your toys out of the pram again, grow up and educate yourself beyond the confines of Islington and Leftie BS

Many people do like Bojo.. i agree.. but i think your description of a man with 8 kids from 4 different mothers, as decent, beggars belief.

If i female politician with that track record tried to get selected as an MP, she would not be, lucky to become a councillor.

He also lied about a border in the Irish Sea, he is on record as stating there would not be one but then promptly put one in place....

My thesaurus tells me that similar words are, fridge, untrustworthy and criminal.
I am not sure what it is telling me.

Who is the eighth child/fourth mother? I assume the (well-educated) women in Boris' life are perfectly capable of deciding how many children they want to have? Why should barrister Marina Wheeler apologise for her four children, when barrister Cherie Blair also has four? Likewise, why should Carrie Johnson not have children because you don't like it?

If a female politician with that track record tried to get selected as an MP, she would not be, lucky to become a councillor

But it's OK for the Deputy Leader of the Opposition/Shadow First Secretary of State to have a baby at 16 and a recent affair with a married man (apparently)?

@Clavinova I know how much you like a quote, especially historic ones. Do you agree with the man quoted in this article about the children of single mothers?

@Clavinova Hardly decent though is it? i thought you Tories were in to "family Values" ?
Not behaving like an alley cat.

No one is entirely sure how many kids Bojo has or with whom.

I think a 16yo who gets pregnant but then works her way up to become deputy leader of the Labour party is something celebrate, don't you? Tories being the party of aspiration and all that.....

Johnsons behavior is not something anyone should celebrate.

Do you agree with the man quoted in this article about the children of single mothers?

As far as I can see, Johnson was referring to 'teenage mothers' -

@Clavinova It is a very simple question, do you agree with your hero Boris that the children of single mothers are a problem. A simple yes or no will do.

FourTeaFallOut · 20/02/2023 19:37

I think Johnson still polls better than Sunak but the tide is against the Tories in the next G.E.

I suppose they might feel they may lose fewer seats were they to switch and feel more comfortable that Boris' antics might attract less scrutiny as leader of the opposition.

But, honestly, I don't think they nor the public have the energy or the appetite for another go on a leadership merry-go-round.

Alexandra2001 · 20/02/2023 19:37

@Clavinova Do you agree with Boris on his Tottometer ideas?

“It is what is called the Tottometer, the geigercounter that detects good-looking women. In 1997, I reported, these were to be found in numbers at the Labour conference. Now – and this is not merely my own opinion – the Tories are fighting back in a big way"
Ffion Hague, the wife of William Hague, set his and others’ Tottometers ”squeaking away like crazy”, added the future prime minister

He'd only married Marina Wheeler 4 years previously, having only recently moved on from his previous wife the same year (1993)#

Decent.

Clavinova · 20/02/2023 19:38

Do you agree with the author of this article that the world's population is growing too fast and something must be done about it?

The world's population yes - I thought the birth rate in the UK was in decline though? I can't see a problem with a few more educated offspring from professional parents in the UK.

pissssedofff · 20/02/2023 19:39

@FourTeaFallOut
The Savanta ComRes survey for ‘The Independent newspaper found that Johnson’s perceived popularity as the Conservative Party leader who won a big mandate in the 2019 general election does not necessarily translate among British voters ahead of the next polls expected in 2024
The survey finds that 63 per cent are opposed to Johnson, 58, trying to lead the country again with only 24 per cent in favour of the idea

and

^At the same time, around 41 per cent of voters believe Sunak, 42, can “improve” the reputation of the Tory party, with only 19 per cent saying the same of Johnson*

Jan 23rd.

HashtagShitShop · 20/02/2023 19:41

He could not make a cabinet. People resigned rather than work under him as pm. He has several huge red flags on top of all this to say why he should not be allowed to be pm ever again - nor should he be allowed to have a position of responsibility imo.

Part of me is enjoying the schadenfreude of the Tory government completely imploding itself and doing the job for the other parties as to why they should not be in power again after the next GE.

... I just wish that GE was a lot sooner than it is.

lovemypuppa · 20/02/2023 19:42

No. Fed up of self centred liars who don't give a shit about anyone but themselves.

FourTeaFallOut · 20/02/2023 19:44

Oh that's interesting but I wonder if 24% of the population who are in favour of the idea might be more inclined to actually vote than perhaps a greater share of people who prefer Sunak but don't feel rallied by a sense of unfair politicking from last year and may feel apathetic about going to vote knowing or expecting the Tories will lose in any case?

FourTeaFallOut · 20/02/2023 19:45

Sorry, hopefully you get the gist of what I'm saying from that garbled sentence, trying to do too many things at once.

I might have had that opinion in 1995 - yes.

I would note particularly that those in the Western world consume more than in the smogs of Mexico that the author was keen to point out.

mmmmm Yet its not the stereotypical children of M/C or professional parents that the country needs though is it?

Carers, drivers, factory, agri, military are the areas we need workers in, these rarely come from M/C families.... their children usually become bankers & then politicians....

Were single mothers still a problem in 2005? Yes or no will do

That's a difficult one -

From my link;
Mr Blair said...
politicians had to think about addressing the underlying causes of crime. "In the inner-city areas, some of our young girls, our young women, start families very, very young. We are piling up problems for the future when that happens. I think it is important that they get role models at school and in the community, where they see it is not a great life, trying to bring up a single-parent family at 17 or 18 actually it is pretty miserable."

When the Conservatives were in government, Labour attacked them for targeting teenage mothers. The Prime Minister's official spokesman denied Mr Blair was being hypocritical.

More whataboutery from you.

I'm less concerned about Johnson's sexual behaviour than his complete lack of fitness to run the country, his unashamed lying and his totally self serving behaviour. He doesn't give a shit about the country he claimed to be responsible for or anyone in it. His vaunting ambition is the only thing he cares about.
