Been TTC for two years. No pregnancy at all. Been medically checked and all ok. Have children already so I know that I can get pregnant. Planned to have one more and was fairly relaxed about it although I had recurrent miscarriage previously but now I’m so fed up! I know I’m so so lucky to have DC already and I think I’ve become a bit obsessed with wanting a third DC.
Any tips to try?! I’m willing to try any weird and wonderful tips to help!! X

It sounds like you are getting quite het up about this which won’t help. It sounds obvious but are you having regular good orgasmic sex? Or is the need to conceive making it a bit mechanical?
I know a few people who tried for ages and then got pregnant on holiday or after getting drunk etc. Basically you need to take the pressure off and start enjoying the process.

Ovia app and laying down with my legs in the air and my bum propped up worked for me - pregnant within 4 months of trying. First child took 6 years to conceive after trying lots of methods but I do think gravity and time works wonders. And timing of ovulation etc hence using ovia. .

I should add laying down with my bum propped up and legs in the air was after doing the deed obviously 🤣

How old are you? :)

ZekeZeke · 18/02/2023 20:30

How old are you ?
Is your partner the father of your children?
Has his fertility been checked?

mumsince2021 · 18/02/2023 20:31

I had trouble conceiving and then conceived the cycle after my smear... may be a coincidence but I feel like it cleared a path in the cervix 😂 also it happened soon after I had a fertility appointment booked which took the pressure off - I think stressing can make things worse but I understand it's impossible not too! Best of luck and hopefully it will just happen soon

Smileymoon1 · 18/02/2023 20:32

Same dad as both children except we are older than last time obviously!!
Im 34. I feel guilty for even moaning about this when I already have DC but it’s something I now so desperately want!

It took me 2+ years and then 18 months to conceive my children. Both times, when I was struggling to conceive, my ferritin levels were really low (<20). Once I got them back up over 50, I conceived.

Yummymummy2020 · 18/02/2023 20:41

Same here op it’s so disheartening. Had a miscarriage a few months back after trying a year and a half and no luck since! No advice but following in case you get a magic trick shared ha ha!!!

Gillyyy · 18/02/2023 20:41

I found reflexology helped, I can’t say whether it was a coincidence or not. I really enjoyed the appointments and I thought if it does nothing, it’s an hour having my feet rubbed which was good for relaxation and I wasn’t on my phone/emails or stressed at all - which probably helped.

I also read some studies about couples that were offered reflexology while on the waiting list for IVF, and quite a good percentage fell pregnant and could come off the list.

Fertility is so hard as it’s often a combination of lots of things and it’s hard to pinpoint what works. Hopefully you’ll get lots of suggestions, wishing you all the best.

Sorry you're dealing with this. Here are some things that I read about when trying to conceive:

  • Inositol supplement - there's good evidence this helps with hormonal issues
  • Tracking your cycle and working out when you ovulate. I took my temperature orally to work it out
  • As someone said above, letting gravity work its magic!
OrderOfTheKookaburra · 18/02/2023 21:09

A friend had 5 IVF cycle failures. She then took a break and took very high doses of co-enzyme Q10 and got pregnant. Talking around 600mg a day.

Bluelightbaby · 18/02/2023 21:10

I’m in a similar situation (although I’m older 43) Two DD (18&16) but new partner of 3yrs. TTC for over a year but nothing. Both had loads of tests and all completely fine ! Tracking ovulation, regular sex in fertile window, using preseed, taking conception vitamins, using gravity - but nothing !!!

IAmAlreadyRegrettingMyGreyColourScheme · 18/02/2023 21:20

Another one who conceived straight after a smear test here too despite trying for years before. When I mentioned it to the nurse she said quite a few women had said the same to her over the years! I'm not sure how you'd recreate that if yours isn't due but I always felt it was to do with the position of my cervix. Perhaps a change in position would help in the same way.
Good luck to you!

Can't you post this on the appropriate conception thread?

Bookworm33 · 18/02/2023 22:39

Pre seed lube to give the sperms a good environment Worked both times. Also doing it everyother after period.

summerpoolandsun · 18/02/2023 22:40

Clomid

Houseplantmad · 18/02/2023 22:45

Anti histamines. Worked for a friend whose gynaecologist recommended taking a one a day. Not sure of the science of it though.

VikingLady · 18/02/2023 22:52

I put a moon cup in after sex, scooping as much goo into it as I could before I fitted it over my cervix. Changed it daily when we had sex again. It means you don't need to do the legs in the air thing, plus it keeps the sperm there for longer.

With my second I used a fertility ovulation monitor, the expensive sort that costs a quid per day for the sticks. I found I was actually ovulating on day 17, not day 10! Worth checking.

Good luck!

Sceptre86 · 18/02/2023 23:01

Are you eating well, exercising, sleeping well? What are your stress levels like? Are you overweight or underweight? Do you have a regular cycle and know when you are at your most fertile?

Adca · 18/02/2023 23:05

ClearBlue fertility monitor

Mamai90 · 18/02/2023 23:32

I had 8 years infertility, id even tried IVF and ended up giving up and barely having sex.

Decided to try again aged almost 39, bought soft cups from amazon (could also be called soft disks), got some pre seed and had sex every day for 7 days in a row during fertile period. Put 1ml of pre seed in 10 mins before. When he's done the deed put the soft cup in so nothing leaks out. I was pregnant on the second month of doing this. Also if 7 days in a row is a bit too knackering he can also finish in the cup and then you insert it with the sperm in it. Good luck!

Forget the greed? Very harsh comment.

mumof1or2 · 18/02/2023 23:47

I highly recommend reading 'it starts with the egg' and following the advice/taking the supplements she recommends. It worked for me and a I'm a lot older than you!
