Parking note

A note stuck to the driver side window of my car yesterday read in neat handwriting "Did you actually try and park or did you just think F* it". The F word was written out in full.

I had parked near a friend's house for the first time. They had given me instructions on where to park and an alternative too. When I arrived I could see it was tight so I messaged her to ask her if my parking was ok or if I should move and she looked out and replied it was ok. Then she also came out to check. I wasn't blocking anyone in although I was at an angle as was another car and it was tight getting out for me but I think it would be slightly easier for the other cars.

When I saw the note I gave it to my friend and they said they thought they knew who wrote it.

Not sure why I'm posting really. I suppose it's on my mind as it wasn't nice to see the F word written out in full at me.

So this was in an actual car park or by the roadside?
Either place parking at an angle is never ideal, but if it was in a carpark, as long as you were in the lines I suppose it was ok. You obviously annoyed someone though - maybe parking at an angle made it difficult for someone trying to get kids into their car or similar.

Impossible to tell whether you are unreasonable without having seen how you were parked. If your parking inconvenienced another person then I think YABU, the note is fair enough. If not then it says more about them, they're probably just a bit of a cunt. People who leave anonymous notes often are. Especially when their note asks a question which you can't possibly give them an answer for because of a lack of contact details.

Try not to get upset about the "F" word, they didn't swear at you they just used the word in their comment.

Why was it tight getting out for you but would have been easier for other cars? Are you shit at parking?

Most people on here just write it in full, it’s just a word. I won’t, as you’ve specifically just said you don’t like it.
In this context, the note itself was an aggression, but the phrase “f it” is a humorous one, it isn’t an aggressive use - not like if they written “learn to f-ing” park.
I think it’s quite funny, although I’d be embarrassed to receive it.
Sounds like you’re being over sensitive to the local busy body who also thinks they’re a comedian.

Oh OP if your parking is shit you'll see and hear a lot worse than Fuck......you'll either need to park properly or get a thicker skin.

Incidentally my special awareness is awful, and even though I’ve paid for specific parking lessons (well after parking a test) I do occasionally have 20 attempts myself then drive away, thinking “f* it”.

So I jest with you in good nature.

The swearing wasn’t even aimed at you so I think you need to get over that really. Just make sure you park in a way that doesn’t impact on anyone else and you’ll be good. I appreciate that’s more challenging when others have already parked badly before you. In those situations, tear up the note and don’t give it a second thought.

Agree with this - if you had to ask your friend if your parking was okay then you knew there was something wrong with it.

I also think you probably parked badly but the note really isn’t that bad and is quite funny (in some rougher areas, they may have keyed your car or worse).
