Parking note

A note stuck to the driver side window of my car yesterday read in neat handwriting "Did you actually try and park or did you just think F* it". The F word was written out in full.

I had parked near a friend's house for the first time. They had given me instructions on where to park and an alternative too. When I arrived I could see it was tight so I messaged her to ask her if my parking was ok or if I should move and she looked out and replied it was ok. Then she also came out to check. I wasn't blocking anyone in although I was at an angle as was another car and it was tight getting out for me but I think it would be slightly easier for the other cars.

When I saw the note I gave it to my friend and they said they thought they knew who wrote it.

Not sure why I'm posting really. I suppose it's on my mind as it wasn't nice to see the F word written out in full at me.

I think the note's actually quite funny. Yes, it's not big or clever to swear at people, but it makes a chance from the usual ranty parking notes.

They don't know you, it wasn't at you you, it was at your parking. Forget it and move on.

I'm not sure how you cope with daily life. You won't like MN, fuck is practically a punctuation mark.

visitors that park like twats are a pain in the arse, but you friend that lives there should have told you that it wasn't ok.

But why do people - especially drivers it seems - think it’s ok to communicate rudely and with bad language when they are writing notes given that they’d generally never have the inclination/ balls to communicated like that face to face?

Why not write “Had trouble getting it out, could you please be more careful next time”. OR “Hi - please note parking is not allowed here” etc.

Bit of a cowardly keyboard warrior type mentality IMO.

My parking’s shit. If I found that note it would make me laugh - and would probably be entirely justified. I didn’t know you could have parking lessons, I’m off to investigate now.

That note would make me chuckle because everyone I know, including myself, think fuck it when we park. It is so congested round here that you just have to squeeze in where you can and expect scratches and broken wing mirrors occasionally. The person who left the note needs to chill out or move to a less populated area.

Why not write “Had trouble getting it out, could you please be more careful next time”. OR “Hi - please note parking is not allowed here” etc.

If someone's prepared to write a note like that they'll certainly be prepared to say it to someone's face.

Personally, I think it'll just make OP think twice but in a lighthearted way.

I had one of those a few years ago telling me that I couldn't park on the road outside their house , which was a few doors up from a mate's

Politely added to it that as I wasn't causing an obstruction and that I was taxed , MOT'ed and insured I can park there , then stuck the note through their letterbox !

Parked there on purpose the next time i visited my mate as well .
