on the ‘can have a go’ comment, if the woman hadn’t realised the men had switched, a sexual assault would have occurred. She’s consented to the first man, not the second.

Whilst what they've done is unforgivable, I actually think the person who took the video and leaked it is worse. They've ruined people's lives.

Their children have been sent the video and will probably face taunting and bullying at school.

Joe and this woman have both lost their jobs.

Their partners have been shoved into the glare of the media.

They were drunken and disgusting idiots, but do they or their families deserve any of this?

He hasn't lost his job. He was fined and benched for the first game of the season. As typical he will be OK, and it's the women around him that will be hung, drawn and quartered and go through hell.

The fact that it’s all over the place is just what happens when things go viral. The technology hasn’t caught up with the problem.

Sending it to a third party is still distribution.

Sending it was hardly going to cause happiness was it? It was always going to cause distress to all parties involved.

I really don't think they deserve this backlash even though what they did was wrong. I really worry about my son growing up in a society where it's totally acceptable to film and publish these acts, and totally acceptable for us to watch. I haven't seen the film but how do we know the woman consented to the act itself? She will have her life completely ruined by something she may not have agreed to do. The mob culture and misogyny is awful.

It wasn't sent to her. She first saw it on Twitter, like everyone else. There was an interview with her yesterday.

The position she is in appears to be a voluntary position, she isn't being held, she is definitely there on her own volition.

Apparently the woman in question has lost her job as a result of this video. I have little sympathy for either of them - all my sympathy is reserved for the families dealing with the fall out of this, especially the children who will have to endure the consequences at school and on social media - but I’m disappointingly unsurprised to see that the woman in question loses her job while the man in question hasn’t, thus far.

Ffs, no it couldn’t. At least, not successfully. There’s a vast difference between ‘what’s in the public interest’ and ‘what (some of) the public are interested in’. There is no ‘public interest’ angle here. There is however, prurience, schadenfraude and a desire for salacious details whilst professing moral outrage.
