AIBU to be shocked someone would want to do this/have it done to them? I mean, the main offense is that he’s cheated on his poor wife, but also - is this a thing??? 🤢

The bit that made me really laugh was the guy filming saying "can I have a go" at the end.

Says a lot about you, you're the only one who appears to have found it amusing.
Are you a fella? I can't imagine any other woman would find that funny, especially in light of the recently completed rape trial.

ReneBumsWombats · 16/02/2023 07:45

I think the woman he was with needs naming and shaming.

Yes, public shaming is so fantastic. Solves everything.

Floppyelf · 16/02/2023 07:46

9 year old children should not have individual phones.

Yes, that's the key issue here (not)

Arrrrrrragghhh · 16/02/2023 07:47

@TimeForMeToF1y Oh come on.
The “ can I have a go comment” made during an ongoing rape is clearly different to this camera guy who has caught two consenting adults in the act.

It is pure guillotine knitter mentality. Her life is already destroyed. She does not need to be publicly hunted and shamed too.

ImAvingOops · 16/02/2023 07:48

I hope this woman is not named and shamed. Enough damage has been done to the kids of one family, without her family being publicly named too.

As disgusting as the pair of them are, no one should be filmed like this without their consent or have it put on SM and their families shouldn't be tortured like this because their dad or mum behaved badly!

The public may well be interested but that's not the same thing as 'in the public interest' fame or no fame. People don't have an entitlement to see what a couple would reasonably consider a private act, even if their choice of location was stupid - it was an alley, not a bench in the high street! I think most people would assume they weren't going to be seen by millions.
There should be a legal obligation from SM platforms to consider wider impact of what they put online.
They'll be plenty of naval gazing and handwringing if the kids or anyone else impacted by this harm themselves after having their lives invaded like this. But it will be too late!

It is still a revolting comment.

The rugby league community is small and everyone will know who this woman is already.

Well it’s context. I’m guessing made to make light of an embarrassing situation.

TimeForMeToF1y · 16/02/2023 07:42

Your posts are on the confusing side, to which consent are you referring here?

Like you I know that filming in a public place doesn't need consent which is why my posts don't refer to that. One can only assume that you are referring to sexual consent hence my question about how the woman appears to be consenting to a stranger "having a go'

Why do you assume the man filming wanted to rim the lady? Maybe he wanted the rugby player to rim him.

TimeForMeToF1y · 16/02/2023 07:52

How did he know she was consenting? Genuine question, how can you tell?

How did the homeless man in the park know the girl in that case wasn't

Some of you seem to have special skills in determining consent from little information I hope you don't serve on rape trail juries

ReneBumsWombats · 16/02/2023 07:52

Bansheed · 16/02/2023 07:48

Doesn't even include the knitting. It's just shrieking for vengeance, on someone who didn't actually do anything to the poster yelling for it.

Is it nasty for two people to rim in public while married to other people, with kids? Of course it is. Does anyone benefit from gratuitous public shaming of them, apart from prurient strangers dressing their titillation and schadenfreude up as moral outrage? Of course not.

Naming and shaming is what's causing people to victimise the man's children.

MinceandMash · 16/02/2023 07:53

That video is even worse than Hancock and his assistant. Something I never thought was possible. Grim and icky. I must have lead a very sheltered life!

Fuckitydoodah · 16/02/2023 07:53

Whilst what they've done is unforgivable, I actually think the person who took the video and leaked it is worse. They've ruined people's lives.

Their children have been sent the video and will probably face taunting and bullying at school.

Joe and this woman have both lost their jobs.

Their partners have been shoved into the glare of the media.

They were drunken and disgusting idiots, but do they or their families deserve any of this?

TheNoonBell · 16/02/2023 07:52

Maybe but that would be a weiird way to ask

Surely "can you do that to me" would be the appropriate question in that case

Slight straw clutching there

BatshitBanshee · 16/02/2023 07:55

TheNoonBell · 16/02/2023 07:31

That is for revenge porn. You would need to prove the intent of causing distress and that the people filmed had not consented to being filmed which would be hard to argue as they were in public at the time so there would be no expectation of privacy.

Given the fame of one of those filmed it could be argued that it was in the public interest to upload it.

I can assure you, no solicitor would argue this was in the public interest to be distributed.

You seem to still not be understanding the difference between filming and distributing.

And given that it has been noted by the person involved and several other sources that there had been a large amount of alcohol consumed over a number of hours prior to the act, it could be argued that there was a true lack of capacity to consent. Implied consent is not consent.

I do hope this never comes knocking at your door, especially since your DP has frequented strip clubs against your wishes on a stag do but you hoped he wouldn't be "too stupid". Yours is the type of outlook and attitude to come a cropper at some point.

Moonmelodies · 16/02/2023 07:55

Hancock and Coladangelo were kissing, fully clothed, indoors and in a private office. Obviously very wrong since they were both married and supposed to be social distancing, but did you really think it wasn't possible to do something more extreme than that?

I sort of agree with this, Joe's wife seems like a strong lady who will recover with the children.

But I can't understand the filmer's motivation or why this would appear on SM.

Arrrrrrragghhh · 16/02/2023 08:01

But we don’t know who leaked it. The video was sent to Joes wife first. We don’t know what she did with it, we don’t know what the videographer did with it or what his intention was. Maybe he just wanted evidence Joe or the woman were cheats . Maybe not.
The fact that it’s all over the place is just what happens when things go viral. The technology hasn’t caught up with the problem.

pleasehelpwi3 · 16/02/2023 08:03

Very Victorian attitudes to the couple and the act, who have made a ludicrous alcohol induced mistake. But the really evil act was the spreading the video, and the tabloid reporting. How come this is even news? Two consenting adults engage in sex act- and yes, it was in a reasonably private place. I just hope no-one commits suicide.
