AIBU to be shocked someone would want to do this/have it done to them? I mean, the main offense is that he’s cheated on his poor wife, but also - is this a thing??? 🤢

@BatshitBanshee Legally there is no expectation of privacy in a public place.

It is an offence for someone to share a private sexual image or video of someone without their consent and with the intention of causing them distress.

There are certain defences under the Act; "it was filmed in public innit" isn't one of them.

An alley behind Greggs doesn't automatically make it a public place, the definition of a public space in the UK is fairly narrow where it pertains to business premises and council property.

There is a gigantic difference between filming and publishing. Neither party consented to being filmed nor consented to having it shared online.

Shesasuperfreak · 16/02/2023 07:07

Don't do it in public if you don't want to be filmed.
Its not revenge porn, you are allowed to film in public.
The filmer done the families a favour.

Revenge porn is rightly illegal, this comes under the definition of revenge porn in the UK, so why on earth are so many media outlets happily sharing stills of this?

As seen on this thread, plenty of people don’t seem to think it’s revenge porn or a targeted attack to post a video like this when the main subject is a man.

Its unfortunate it was filmed . Are you telling me you've never had any outdoor "activities"

Any way shit happens

.

😂you made me spit out my tea! "shit happens"

BlondeBombshelf · 16/02/2023 07:12

I hate posts like yours, just click bait. You need to put all the available information in the first post 🙄 Otherwise it just comes across as attention seeking, and what are you hoping to gain from it anyway?

squtable · 16/02/2023 07:14

What kind of person films that and then distributes it?

what kind of person watches it?

I personally don't like all the sharing of footage that features victims of an accident, terrorist attacks, even some of the crime docs make me uncomfortable as they are all a gross invasion of privacy (unless family & individuals have consented). But people are interested in it.

The thought of him going back home with his nasty mouth and kissing his wife after having his tongue in another woman’s arse.
Absolutely disgusting.

She said that she was glad that she saw that video before he kissed her. Don’t blame her. Poor woman, poor kids. Having sex down an alley would be bad enough to be shared on the web but that is far more embarrassing, for both parties

So Westerman and the woman could sue the filmmaker? It is indeed illegal?

Yep. After his wife and children, I feel sorry for the Sky sound engineer who is going to have a job and a half all season getting clean audio.

🤣🤣🤣

@BatshitBanshee You are really living up to your moniker.

  • Humour is subjective
  • All parties appeared to be consenting

It what way did the woman appear to be consenting to a sexual act with a random man with a camera who hapoened to be walking past?

I know that reads aggressive when written down but I don't mean it to, it's a genuine question about consent and how you think it appears to have been given?

It sounds like something stray dogs would do.

That's what it looked like too....

704703hey · 16/02/2023 07:18

I don't understand what happened here, so married sports person got completely blotto with a woman and performed an indecent act in public?

Who actually filmed it?

The consent was in reference to the man rimming her.

You don't need consent to film someone in public.

Arrrrrrragghhh · 16/02/2023 07:21

Lauren Westermann was sent the video before it went viral. I hope she didn’t send it on to anyone especially if they are thinking of suing the person videoing. In her position I’d have sent it to everyone, not thinking, as I’d want them to see the scum bag of a husband I was leaving.
It’s a horrible position to be in.

Guiltycat · 16/02/2023 07:25

Just wondering, if say a child had walked past and witnessed the act and reported it, would it have been considered them doing something inappropriate in a public space?

user1465390476 · 16/02/2023 07:29

I can’t imagine how his family are feeling. I follow Rugby League and saw a lot of jokey posts on twitter about it. People don’t care about how much they are adding to a family’s pain. It’s sickening.

That is for revenge porn. You would need to prove the intent of causing distress and that the people filmed had not consented to being filmed which would be hard to argue as they were in public at the time so there would be no expectation of privacy.

Given the fame of one of those filmed it could be argued that it was in the public interest to upload it.

SweetSimpleJane · 16/02/2023 07:34

It looked like she was drunk and about to take a shit after a spicy kebab. How can men lick that disgusting place and in the same mouth that he kisses his poor wife and children with? I'd never heard of him before but he looks so baby faced and sweet looks are definitely deceiving though I'm sure many sportsmen and ordinary men cheat, it's more shocking when he has 3 kids and looks like a nice guy. Can't trust any of them.
I think the woman he was with needs naming and shaming.
I feel so so sorry for his children and wife. What a disgrace.

I am actually surprised that an athlete is downing so much booze during the season.
Surely it must affect his performance

It just seems a bit grim - so 2 people got completely off their heads, were hugely inappropriate in public and someone was filming it. It must be someone they know.

I hope the families are OK, cheating isn't nice. Nor was the videoing or it going viral.

Not the point at all but the season starts today so technically it was pre-season. Still shouldn't have been drinking though!!

SweetSimpleJane · 16/02/2023 07:36

He's rich enough to afford a hotel room to take his cheating slapper there but no. So arrogant and so selfish they never think of consequences cheaters do they? it's always me me me. You'd find they are the same ones saying what a thrill and sexy time it was to have that illicit encounter. I hope the way the pair of them are mocked takes the shine out of delusional cheaters who think their sneaking off and public 'kinky' sex in carparks and the like is nothing romantic, it's smutty, it's cheap and it's disgusting.

SweetSimpleJane · 16/02/2023 07:39

Hope his wife takes him to the cleaners. Joe Westerman what a laughing stock. I hope the woman involved also gets her comeuppance. No decent man or woman will ever want to be involved with them. I reckon they will come out as a couple because they are lepers now and the only saving grace is saying they fell in love lol like that get me out of here politician and gina cola

Your posts are on the confusing side, to which consent are you referring here?

Like you I know that filming in a public place doesn't need consent which is why my posts don't refer to that. One can only assume that you are referring to sexual consent hence my question about how the woman appears to be consenting to a stranger "having a go'
