I run a Facebook dog training group.

One of the members who I know personally in real life earlier posted that she wouldn’t be coming training tomorrow as her dog is close to “blobbing”.

I removed it as I thought it was crude, she messaged me and said she thought I was being over dramatic to remove it.

WIbu?

Not unreasonable at all, that’s awful.

TheShellBeach · 09/02/2023 21:04

Bleurgh

IsItBedtimeYetNope · 09/02/2023 21:06

Blobbing? Is that tacky shorthand for diarrhoea or "on the blob"?? I'm baffled because both seem ridiculous.

WFHbore2023 · 09/02/2023 21:06

Will shortly be in season would have been sufficient!

MissingNightshades · 09/02/2023 21:09

Is she Gary from Men behaving badly?
I don't think I've heard that word since the early nineties.
No it's weird.

purpleme12 · 09/02/2023 21:09

Well while it's not the most tasteful post in the world, I don't think I'd go so far as removing it
I mean I can't see her contravening any rules with this post
So I can see her point

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/02/2023 21:10

I'm Admin on many Fb Groups and if I had a dog one I wouldn't have removed her post

Yes could have been said slightly better

But def worse things to delete

Soubriquet · 09/02/2023 21:10

Meh. Could have been worded a bit better but it’s not the end of the world

ChannelyourinnerElsa · 09/02/2023 21:11

It’s not that uncommon a term in some dog circles. A bit grim, not one I would use, but not really in need of removing in my opinion.

gamerchick · 09/02/2023 21:12

Wouldn't bother me. On the blob has been about for decades.

winningeasy · 09/02/2023 21:12

As in coming into season? What's bad about that? Periods for humans or dogs don't need to be censored.
Who cares

Coffeellama · 09/02/2023 21:13

I’ve never heard that term before! It’s a bit grim but I wouldn’t have removed it, it’s not offensive.

Anon300 · 09/02/2023 21:16

Do you generally a bit prim?

Anon300 · 09/02/2023 21:16

Are you*

Anotherthreadwithhuns · 09/02/2023 21:17

This is my gripe with Facebook admins. They are all too often autocratic in nature and delete everything they personally disagree with. Too much censorship.

I don't believe that people should be able to behave offensively and rude but that one is subjective. Although it isn't a term I personally like, it really didn't deserve deletion.
Still, I guess that is subjective too. 🤷🏼‍♀️

WandaWonder · 09/02/2023 21:17

Why on earth was this deleted?

Sure odd but really?

Isahlo · 09/02/2023 21:20

i would say I’m removing it, because in season but he’s are absolutely targets for theft

MarshaMelrose · 09/02/2023 21:20

Wait a minute. It's offensive for her to say it (whatever it means) on your FB dog page. But it's ok for you to repeat it on MN?
Sounds a bit hypocritical.

saraclara · 09/02/2023 21:46

You were being ridiculous. And I'm one of those people that tends to be on the slightly prim side of normal.

CrystalCoco · 09/02/2023 21:51

It's your Facebook page so if you want to remove it, then it's up to you. I wouldn't want a gross message like that hanging around on my page either, so no, I don't think you were BU. She's a bit much writing that and then also coming back to you to say you were being dramatic.

"On the blob", I've not heard that for 20+ years!

I think YABU for not allowing other older members of the group to relive some of their youth for a split second like myself while reading the comment.

Thesaucysalad · 09/02/2023 22:20

What a snore fest you are

This. OP, either you think it’s offensive enough to be removed or you think it’s inoffensive enough for you to post here. Which is it?

DuplicateUserName · 09/02/2023 22:31

Christ OP, chill out.

You sound like one of those dreadful FB admin with delusions of importance.
