I run a Facebook dog training group.

One of the members who I know personally in real life earlier posted that she wouldn’t be coming training tomorrow as her dog is close to “blobbing”.

I removed it as I thought it was crude, she messaged me and said she thought I was being over dramatic to remove it.

WIbu?

Is she Gary from Men behaving badly?
I don't think I've heard that word since the early nineties.
No it's weird.

I laughed out loud. Thanks :)

Ellie1015 · 09/02/2023 22:36

I wouldn't use that phrase, but also wouldn't feel the need to remove it.

Shoogly · 09/02/2023 22:36

Never heard of that word. Might start using it for myself now! Thanks OP!

Soubriquet · 09/02/2023 21:10

Meh. Could have been worded a bit better but it’s not the end of the world

Exactly...

Aww you're welcome, gawd knows we all need it.

Emmamoo89 · 09/02/2023 22:56

Wouldn't bother me

Siameasy · 09/02/2023 23:07

It sounds grim but I do say it myself “on blob so leave me alone” type thing

changeme4this · 09/02/2023 23:48

I would have waited to see if anyone reported the post. Sometimes you have to step back from your personal feelings on matters and let the forum community decide.

PerilousCorridor · 09/02/2023 23:56

Unclench, OP.

But why would you remove it just because someone couldn't handle someone else on the internet, using a phrase that they wouldn't?

NotAnotherBathBomb · 10/02/2023 00:01

Blibbity blobbity blob.

UselessExLondoner · 10/02/2023 00:07

It's a bit crude but I wouldn't have deleted it. I would have just taken it as her trying to be funny. Also it's a good way of letting others know in the group that taking your in season dog to a meet up with other dogs is not the done thing!!

Maybe you could have commented underneath. Glad you're not bringing her wouldn't want the boys to have too much fun at training today!

NotAnotherBathBomb · 10/02/2023 00:01

Blibbity blobbity blob.

Is that what Mr Blobby used to mumble?! Blast from the past. 🤣

AlwaysLatte · 10/02/2023 00:22

What is blobbing??

afinishedkiss · 10/02/2023 00:38

I can’t cope..

What is blobbing??

I’m assuming it means period as some people say their on the blob when their on.

poppetposieandfun · 10/02/2023 04:21

Not the best choice of words but I wouldn't remove it. Can't control people or their language - within reason!

GoodChat · 10/02/2023 04:34

OP you run a Facebook page, not a country. Rein it in with the whole dictator thing...

DuplicateUserName · 09/02/2023 23:59

That’s what I’m saying, sometimes as admin or mod you have to step back and let the community judge the post… rather than let personal feelings get in the way.

as someone new to moderating (6 months) I have to say I’ve been not pleasantly surprised at some of the stuff that gets presented as first time posts. Group rules exist but clearly these are not read, and scammers are getting crafty.

I can understand when some self doubt creeps in…

Desertbarncat · 10/02/2023 05:18

I had to look it up- trust me you do not want to know how urban dictionary defines that word- but in the context of her post I don’t find it offensive.

BluntWithAC · 10/02/2023 05:40

All hail Tige.

It's not a saying I would use but I wouldn't have deleted it.

custardbear · 10/02/2023 05:57

Hideous! Plus Facebook messenger is appropriate for personal messages, cancellations etc not the actual page itself surely

MavisMcMinty · 10/02/2023 06:06

How weird and prudish you sound. How on earth do you deal with dog shit?

Seashor · 10/02/2023 06:13

I’d remove it too. It’s a horrible term.

plumduck · 10/02/2023 06:16

That's ridiculous. Yes I'm notna fan of "blobbing" but there's nothing wrong with writing it in that context.
