Jeans & converse on a night out?

Would you wear this? What with on top? Is it ok for an outdoor restaurant/bar, sells pizza and bubbly etc?

Where what you're comfortable in. I'd say with jeans and converse, I'd match the colour of the top with the colour of the converse. Maybe a nice vest or a bandeau style top x

RampantIvy · 05/02/2023 11:40

At this time of year, outdoors?
I would be wearing something warmer. Even with patio heaters it will be chilly.

I think for something like this people will be dressed casually.

Dancingwithabroomstick · 05/02/2023 11:41

@RampantIvy What sort of thing on top?

OP posts:
Dancingwithabroomstick · 05/02/2023 11:42

@Tothemoonandbackx Is it not too scruffy? Black & white converse boots and black jeans

OP posts:
Chicagopd · 05/02/2023 11:43

Outdoors at this time of year I'd be wearing a hoodie or a very thick jumper.

IamSmarticus · 05/02/2023 11:45

Depends who you are going out with also, friends who will be in dresses and heels and ou might look (and feel) out of place. Friends who will probably be wearing similar to you - fine.

Also you say scruffy - agan, it depends. Battered converse and faded/ripped black jeans, yes, scruffy. Clean converse and nice black jeans, fine.

Wear a nice top and you're good to go.

Tangerinie · 05/02/2023 11:45

Sounds fine. I wear jeans and trainers pretty much everyday! Wouldn't wear anything different for a casual outdoor restaurant. Wear it with a sweater and a coat and scarf if it's outdoors in the UK in February

Chimna · 05/02/2023 11:49

What style are the jeans? I plan to wear similar for tea out next weekend. I'm wearing Vans Hitops, mom jeans, long sleeved red and white stripe top with hoop earrings and necklace.

Chimna · 05/02/2023 11:49

But yes outdoors I'd want something warmer!

Dancingwithabroomstick · 05/02/2023 11:52

@Chimna The black ones are just straight leg, but I could wear my baggier, blue, mom jeans type ones. I was thinking black a bit smarter, but no idea what top? We might move indoors to the main bar bit too. A vest top with chunky, warm cardigan over? Maybe a nice necklace & earrings 🤷🏻‍♀️

OP posts:
Chimna · 05/02/2023 12:00

Yes I think that would work well with either pair of jeans!

RampantIvy · 05/02/2023 12:06

Same. I very much doubt that anyone will be in dresses and heels.

benten54 · 05/02/2023 12:18

In London yes 100%

Other areas seem to be significantly more dressy for even Pizza Express.

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 05/02/2023 12:18

It sounds like it’s a neighbourhood pizza place? Anything is suitable!

Dancingwithabroomstick · 05/02/2023 12:25

@benten54 Yes, London! Small, family run place, pizzas but also other foods, so much nicer than a pizza express, but I can’t do dress and heels

OP posts:
Dancingwithabroomstick · 05/02/2023 12:30

@Chicagopd Isn't a hoodie a bit *Too scruffy though

Oysterbabe · 05/02/2023 12:31

This is fine and I'd definitely wear it.

Oh god yes you'll be fine in jeans and converse. Don't even think about it. You'll look daft in dress and heels and uncomfy to boot.
If you are worried then a nice jacket and scarf on top.

Flubadubba · 05/02/2023 12:33

Yes for London, aspeople dress down rather than up. No for many other places.

RampantIvy · 05/02/2023 12:33

TBH I would far rather be warm and comfortable than dressy and cold.

GingerFoxInAT0phat · 05/02/2023 12:35

I’d wear them with a bodysuit and an oversized blazer.

Dancingwithabroomstick · 05/02/2023 12:36

@GingerFoxInAT0phat Ooh, blazer, yes, that’s a thought

DashboardConfessional · 05/02/2023 12:37

I do this all the time. Black jeans and Converse, drapey cardigan, black top, earrings, big hair. With a nice crossbody bag.

jacult · 05/02/2023 12:40

Jeans and converse in London is probably on the verge of overdressing for a beer and pizza night! Makes sure you ankles are nice and warm and have an extremely warm coat!!

poobaloo · 05/02/2023 12:44

I agree but making comments like that caused consternation on a thread the other day!
OP I'd wear trainers / converse and jeans, and either a cool sweatshirt, jumper, or cool cardi with a top. If you might be going inside you need to think about layers. But I hate being too hot or too cold...!
