When you said a bit special OP.....I thought you meant not right in the head?
Like the wheels still going round but the hamster is dead type thing.

Twawmyarse2 · 01/02/2023 21:34

Well, it's a good job we're all different then isn't it me old cocker?

I can appreciate all types of music from all cities and parts of the world, I'm open minded like that - but there's no denying all the above bands have had massive success and lots of hit records. And lots and lots of fans who seem to love them.

I guess you're just wanting to be a miserable, obtuse git though aren't you?

Pray tell, where do YOU come from BloodandFire?

London

ZenNudist · 01/02/2023 21:48

Cheers!

London

Well there's a surprise

Yousillybugger · 01/02/2023 21:52

@INFJay I laughed out loud and nodded as soon as I saw the reply 🤣Very predictable.

Pipe down Liam Gallagher

😂

Thing is, Mancs believe they're cool. Black Country (and Brummies) know we're not and don't care, which when you think about it is...cool.

Yousillybugger · 01/02/2023 21:52

@Ludo19 😂Possibly that too

Yousillybugger · 01/02/2023 21:53

@CPL593H But is it though 😬🤷🏻‍♀️

@BloodAndFire 100% that Elbow are something good to come out of Manchester 🙄

So, you met one person from Salford who said that..and you’re basing all other people from Manchester on that interaction 😅

No. I'm also basing it on time spent in Manchester and Leeds, and the culture that comes out of there. Which is aggressively white, macho, violent, and self-aggrandising (like this thread).

Based on people I've met, and bands/writers, I think Sheffield is fucking great. Dry and witty and intelligent and understated.

This thread is just a classic example of Mancunianism.

idonotmind · 01/02/2023 20:42

Lancs is better to be fair

Totally agree!

StrapOnYourHeroHair · 01/02/2023 20:53

Nah, Geordies are best. Followed by Glaswegians.

You are correct. Geordie here with Glaswegian grandparents and I think I'm lovely 😂

HerbalTeaAndChocolate · 01/02/2023 21:57

Yousillybugger · 01/02/2023 20:34

@MadamAndTheAnts Oh, give over 🤣

Jealousy is not an attractive quality

1990?! It didn’t stop there

Well it kinda did... 🤷🏻‍♀️

LookingOldTheseDays · 01/02/2023 21:57

Nah, wrong side of the Pennines.

Special needs in my opinion.

Belladonna208 · 01/02/2023 21:59

I raise you the North East of England... given the state of transpennine transport, however, you may never have been able to escape from Greater Manchester to see what's on the other side of them there hills.

I just wish it would stop raining in the north west. Just for five minutes. The climate in Ireland is dryer than this.

I do also think that some folk will find Liverpool more to their taste, others Manchester. Best description I ever came across for the self-appointed metropolitan area capital of the north west was along the lines of, "Manchester - now there's a city that doesn't suffer any lack of self esteem". 🙂

I do also have a theory that the Wars of the Roses may in fact have started when a dour and taciturn Yorkshire lad was possibly trying to get a bit of peace from his garrulous Lancashire lass of a spouse....!!

Shewhois21 · 01/02/2023 21:59

YABU
Rude people with terrible football teams 😊

Yousillybugger · 01/02/2023 21:59

@BloodAndFire I think the majority here have been lighthearted, fun and fairly polite to each other..I’ve only seen yours and one other poster who are quite aggressive and mean in the delivery.

I don’t agree at all about it being white, macho, violent etc…

Sheffield though, I agree, is also a great place.

DomesticShortHair · 01/02/2023 20:51

I’d agree. Definitely.

Oh, you meant in a good way, didn’t you?

🙌

Flamingogirl08 · 01/02/2023 22:02

I'd say Northern in general but then I'm a scouser 🤣

My team is based all over the country and I definitely have more of a laugh with my fellow northerners oh and the northen Irish

HerbalTeaAndChocolate · 01/02/2023 22:02

Yousillybugger · 01/02/2023 20:56

@JooftheNorth Yes, the 90’s were the peak times..so much rain it’s true

Ludo19 · 01/02/2023 22:02

Living close to Glasgow, aye theyre funny. I love Geordies and Scousers. Mancs are a good laugh as are the Yorkshire crowd but the northern Irish are bloody hilarious.

On behalf of all mancs, we don't care what YOU think.

There's so many reasons why mancunians are the greatest people to have ever existed 😌 Not least is our ability to cultivate a healthy sense of irreverence. Which is useful when faced with a bunch of southerners on mumsnet spouting off.

HerbalTeaAndChocolate · 01/02/2023 22:04

Yousillybugger · 01/02/2023 20:59

I like scousers too and Irish people, Mancs included, these are my three favourites

Ah the Irish, now you're talking! ☘️
