Almost everyone thinks their bit of UK is special - and I’m sure people in other countries are the same.

Manchester isn’t one of the bits where I’m not from that I impartially think that about, although there are some.

emmathedilemma · 01/02/2023 20:38

All right r kid?

ColonelRhubarbBikini · 01/02/2023 20:41

Nope sorry it’s Brummies. Lovely, funny, salt of the earth bab Brummies (with a shout out to the Black Country too).

Yousillybugger · 01/02/2023 20:41

Wow, 29% of mumsnetters are from Manchester 😁

ovaltina · 01/02/2023 20:44

HA! DEFINITELY NOT!

Your twatish assertion proves it.

QueSyrahSyrah · 01/02/2023 20:45

We spent one night in Manchester last Autumn and had witnessed three public shouting matches (one including shoving) between the train station and the hotel, so I'm not sure Confused

Maybe we just picked a particularly feisty day. Could have been a full moon I suppose.

Yousillybugger · 01/02/2023 20:47

@ovaltina Nice. Most of us are generally well mannered too…where are you from then?

OP posts:
Yousillybugger · 01/02/2023 20:47

@SantaBakula Yes!

WendyAndCIyde · 01/02/2023 20:47

Nah. Manchester's shite. Its always raining. Also my in-laws are mancs. Twats.

LindorDoubleChoc · 01/02/2023 20:48

Why? There just is doesn't explain anything. Perhaps to you if you come from there and have a special attachment.

I suspect most people couldn't give a stuff.

HunbrushedAir · 01/02/2023 20:48

Manchester, so much to answer for

The Stone Roses output after 1990 was terrible - their second album was rockist tripe.

Oasis = A less good Status Quo

New Order produced nothing of note in the 90s.

Do you mean the Charlatans? If so, they were formed in the Midlands.

Elbow and the Doves - like listening to paint dry - bland as hell.

DomesticShortHair · 01/02/2023 20:51

I’d agree. Definitely.

Oh, you meant in a good way, didn’t you?

Loics · 01/02/2023 20:51

I find Manchester okay, but it doesn't stand out to me in any way, it's just... there.

I do agree with Yorkshire and Glasgow though!
