There's been criticism in the press over the sexualisation/borderline pornography on the video. I've just watched it. It just seems pretty misogynistic to me. He appears to smash a wine glass onto a woman's head and then it looks as though the women are being urinated upon (although it's not clear ...maybe it was meant to be champagne). What are other people's interpretation/views on it. I may well be mistaken.

After all the media hype and threads on here. I watched it. Yes the spraying liquid appears to be insinuating piss/golden showers. The somewhat bare bum cheeks were provocative - but only because they weren’t those of big curvy women as you usually see in music videos. But otherwise the rest was in line with what I’ve seen largely female stars do in the past.

Don’t get the fuss and outrage personally beyond the piss part.

What he's doing isn't new. Anyone who remembers Frankie Goes To Hollywood will have found this video old hat. Frankie knew what they were doing and they were good at it.

It all looks a bit like Laurel Hubbard identifying as a female weight-lifter. Sam Smith is a parody of what he thinks outrageous should look like. People aren't shocked by him; they're laughing at him in contempt.

I don't care for the song or the video, but I don't find anything to get cross about, except for the bit where he hits someone with a bottle, which is just violent.

It has fetish stuff in it; so what, it's not for children. He is acting sexy and desirable while being a bit chubby and hairy; good for him. Women aren't the only ones wearing corsets, platform heels and stockings; great, I'd be glad if people stopped thinking of them as 'women's' clothes - most women I know don't wear them anyway.

Presumably the producers realise the track and the singing performance are both very poor, insipid and beyond boring. Maybe this kind of scandal is all they could think of to lend it some kind of notability. Scandal as a substitute for talent, oldest trick in the book.

never did I see articles like that before Sam said he was Non Binary. My question is why? Does being NB or being a woman mean that clothes are suddenly important when they weren’t before? Also most of the clothes/ appearances were awful so it also seemed like an article for the sake of it, not even praising a genuinely nice outfit.
