Link to a video on Twitter where a man is saying that there could be "exceptional" 12 year olds who could consent to sex with an adult.

Where is all this heading?

Beamur · 27/01/2023 13:48

Same destination this has been tried for before - pedophilia being normalised.
No, 12 year olds cannot give fully informed consent to sex with adults. It's child abuse.

lyson · 27/01/2023 13:49

Yet in California 12 year olds can consent to taking hormones and god knows what without their parents knowledge

OP posts:
OoooohMatron · 27/01/2023 13:54

How that man stopped himself from knocking this paedo out I don't know.

lyson · 27/01/2023 13:55

What's scary is the man saying this vile shit was happy to say it, very comfortable with his views

It seems to have been removed
(Unsurprisingly)
The only people who would deem this acceptable in any way are paedophiles 🤬

Phos · 27/01/2023 14:07

Totally agree (that they can't consent) I mean some 12 year olds might THINK they can, particularly in grooming cases, but they really can't and I imagine it has real repercussions later in life.

Too many pedos in this world.

SouperNoodle · 27/01/2023 14:12

So he's basically telling the world that he's a pedophile

Too many pedos in this world.

There really are far, far too many.

Ericaequites · 27/01/2023 14:32

One is too many.

tedgran · 27/01/2023 14:36

Didn't Lisa Nandy say that she thought that the age of consent could be lowered?

SantaCarlaCalifornia · 27/01/2023 14:37

I watched that yesterday and his stupid smirk made my skin crawl. He knows exactly what he's saying and doesn't think there's anything wrong with it. Yuck.

lyson · 27/01/2023 14:37

The smirk is awful, really betrays what he's really thinking

She did say she thought 13 year olds should be allowed a sex change, don't remember anything about age of consent but possibly!

OnlyFannys · 27/01/2023 14:48

Link doesnt work for me but I dont think I need to watch it to say yanbu

Onnabugeisha · 27/01/2023 14:51

Thankfully this view is going the way of the Dinosaur.

Nigerias age of consent is still 11
Many countries still have age of consent lower than 16
Some countries are sneaky and say if you’re married, you’re old enough to consent regardless of age but then allow child marriage.

Less than 2yrs ago France finally passed an age of consent law.

“FRANCE has finally set the age of consent to 15 after outrage over a schoolgirl's rape case. The historic change in legislation comes after 20 firefighters who allegedly raped a 13-year-old girl dodged charges, sparking protests across the country.”

It's insane to say a 12 year old can consent and anyone who is trying to make that case is a very disturbed person

ZeroFuchsGiven · 27/01/2023 15:07

I posted on another thread yesterday that 13 year old girls having sex were sexually abused and not just brats or doing it for attention or because they liked it as quoted by another poster.

I was called in this order:
Ridiculous
Naive
Young
Insane
Pushing an agenda
Skewed by the area of work im in (I work in the leisure industry so no idea what that comment even meant)

Thank you for restoring my faith that there are indeed normal people on this site as I was quite upset by those comments and the thought that not just 1 but 2 posters were telling me I was wrong.

NameChange005 · 27/01/2023 15:07

I don't even want to watch it (and it's apparently not there now) but YANBU.
What is really unsettling is he is advocating taking the onus for this vile crime away from the adult and placing the "responsibility" (for lack of a better word) on the minor/victim- if that makes sense?

ZeroFuchsGiven · 27/01/2023 15:09

Sorry I forgot to say you are 100% not being unreasonable.

SantaBakula · 27/01/2023 15:20

It is absolutely ridiculous that a 12 could give consent to a adult .

Even if the child thought they were grown up enough to give consent ( I know I thought I knew it all at 12 yrs old ) any adult taking advantage of this needs stringing up and not by the neck !

You’re not alone. It usually happens when an OP asks if they should provide contraception to their 13/14yr old. The narrative is usually but of course you should, girls that age are all having sex, I was and I turned out ok. It’s totally normal and you don’t want a pregnancy, do you?

Whereas I’m more like, how is this normal? Why is no-one concerned about grooming going on? The child is underage, and buying contraception sends a message to them that you expect them to be having sex and could actually pressure them into it? And similar concerns.

I think there has been an influx lately of the Bants Lads and Paedo Lads who are turning up on threads of this type. All we can do is report them.
