"There you'll be" by Faith Hill from Pearl Harbour. Was popular when my Mum died. So many of the words break my heart -

" I'll be glad 'cause I was blessed to get to have you in my life
When I look back on these days
I look and see your face
You were right there for me"

"In my heart, there'll always be a place for you for all my life
I'll keep a part of you with me
And everywhere I am, there you'll be"

Oh God, I'm off again ........

This was on the radio when I sat with my mum on end of life, the words really resonated with me. I was a blubbering wreck!

Always on my mind Willie Nelson or Elvis
I’m not in love 10CC
Death is not the end Nick Cave
Beyond the sea Bobby Darin
All leave me in a heaving, blubbing mess when I hear them.

Theres quite a few. When Judy Boucher Cant Be With You Tonite was a hit in 1987, i found that made me teary. Also The Greatest Love Of All Whitney Houston. Not sure why but Blowing iIn The Wind by Bob Dylan does. Was sat in a cafe last year and Moonshadow by Cat Stevens came on the radio, tears streamed down my face. Gaye by Clifford T Ward because it was one of my mum's favourite songs.

AliTheMinx · 02/01/2024 23:46

I also get weepy in When I Grow Up from Matilda, as my son's class sang it at the end of Year 2, and all the parents were sobbing!!

AliTheMinx · 02/01/2024 23:52

My friend always weeps in This Woman's Work by Kate Bush after the harrowing scene in The Handmaid's Tale when all the handmaids thought they were going to be killed. I've just listened to it and now I'm crying!

youdialwetile · 03/01/2024 03:35

The Association with "Never My Love"

I don't know why - I think it's the strings but it always makes me feel sad/weepy but with an added sense of horror/dread.

There are a few songs, books, movie scenes that do this to me - I've tried to explain it to other people but no one else seems to experience this.

Scorchio84 · 03/01/2024 04:15

Otis Reading - I've been loving you

Scorchio84 · 03/01/2024 04:25

AliTheMinx · 02/01/2024 23:31

Oh - and definitely In The Arms of the Angel

this song kills me, it reminds me of Marco Simoncelli, a MotoGP rider who died on the track in Sepang & the tributes used this song 💔

2024name · 03/01/2024 08:19

I am in a sad place at the moment. I always thought the songs that would have the most emotional impact would be deep and meaningful. However, it is the simple messages of songs like 'Goodbye; (Kenny Rogers), 'I'll See You Again' (Westlife) and 'Tears in Heaven' (Eric Clapton) that really get to me. Currently, I cannot listen to them.

App13 · 03/01/2024 08:38

For whom the bell tolls - Bee Gees

paisley256 · 04/01/2024 03:50

Barbra Streisand - All in Love is Fair (actually think it's a Stevie Wonder song)

Yebba - My Mind. I was literally astonished when I first heard this woman sing, I cry like a baby everytime I hear her especially this song. Yebba's Heartbreak is beautiful too.

quisensoucie · 04/01/2024 07:35
