What is going on, 3 “celebrities” announced that they’re having twins. Is this the new must have thing?

I have nearly 4 year old twins and I can tell them it’s incredibly incredibly hard!

It will take your body and your relationship right to the edge. Twins are a total blessing, the relationship they have with each other now is amazing, but honestly the early days I barely remember it, and then the toddler stage came along which was a whole new level of hard.

I would assume that least some of them are the result of fertility treatment. Is that what you mean?

Probably sometimes IVF. But also if you’re wealthy and famous you can probably afford round the clock child care if they want to, so won’t feel the strain in the same way us ‘normies’ do.

I always assume all twins nowadays are IVF. I know a former school mum who had IVF twins. But in reality, she had triplets. Their younger sibling was actually the triplet but the parents put that embryo on ice for 5 years. It’s a bit weird but they’ve got the 3 lovely kids they set out to have.

Ah ok.. didn’t Amy Childs say something about twins running in her family? I might of made that up 😂 don’t have a clue about who Alex Reid is with or their pregnancy but I did assume Amys was a natural twin conception.

They are definitely more common now.

I went through school in the 70's as the only twins in the school, now there are multiple twins per year group in some schools.

It's hyper ovulation, it can only be passed down through the maternal line. People normally get this wrong. Doesn't matter if your dad was a twin etc.

I went through school in the 70's as the only twins in the school, now there are multiple twins per year group in some schools.

Some of that is improvement in neonatal care, plus older mothers, plus clomid/IVF

Twins aren’t a choice though unless you do IVF and implant 2 embryos and they both take. So finances are irrelevant really. I know what OP means there’s been a ridiculous amount of twin announcements in the last few weeks - something to do with the lip fillers maybe?!

Yep. Really. She was very open about her IVF experience. She was also humorous about it, admitting that thinking about it all got a little weird at times. The kids are much older now. Beautiful kiddies. Happy. Healthy. Loved. And… secret triplets. 😁

They're not triplets just because they came from the same batch of eggs! She would have had to have been pregnant with all 3 at the same time to have had actual triplets.
