@Lupin61 i had all the fruit soaps from the body shop lined up in my bedroom. Never used them - they were just for show and got covered in dust and their smell faded 🤣

I miss there being no internet, and all of life being real. I think I’d swap all of the benefits it brings for that. It hasn’t turned out to be a good thing, imo.

The body moisturiser from Boots. It was a light whipped cream in a huge jar, with a swirl of coloured gel all the way throughin stripes, I think they had red or orange. My friends, and I would go there and just marvel at it thinking it was the coolest toiletry ever! I bet it would bring me out in a rash now 😂

I also miss watching Friends for the first time!

twistyizzy · 25/09/2023 18:40

@LoobyDop agree. I think that's why it feels like a simpler time

I forgot having to wait for someone to finish on the house phone, or the phone as we called it then, before being able to make a call. Or being on a call and hearing that click that meant my Mum was having a cheeky listen in 😂

A properly funded NHS and a functioning economy.

Needhelp101 · 25/09/2023 22:50

The Rouge Noir Chanel nail varnish that Mia Wallace wore in Pulp Fiction. Except we as students were as poor as piss and couldn't afford it, and Boots did a pretty good dupe.

SuitcaseofBooze · 25/09/2023 23:09

being able to afford to live- housing costs not so ridiculous
no mobile phones and no camera phones, no social media so much less pressure
no fucking Tik Tok to rob kids of their childhood
More social mobility, you didn’t have to come from money to live OK

When I was a student, I remember being able to buy bread that cost 4p!

Greenfinch7 · 26/09/2023 01:49

being in love, reading books, having my babies, not worrying about everything, no internet in my life, not wasting time on mumsnet, believing in things, playing music
