I keep craving coke.

The drink, not the drug.
Has to be full fat, not caffeine free etc.
I wasn’t bothered about it before really, maybe had a nice cold coke a few times a year with a pizza takeaway or McDonald’s, but generally never drank fizzy drinks, if I did it was Sprite/7 up.
I drink one coffee a day and the rest is water, fizzy flavoured waters.
I keep buying it now and thinking about it 🤷🏻‍♀️I could just drink a cold coke now..so weird.
Definitely not pregnant, have been ill (flu/cough etc) since the New year-when it started really, is it this? What the hell

@BakedTattie just be glad it wasn't cock zero

WandaWonder · 19/01/2023 21:08

Not related as such but when I was a teenager I drank a lot of normal coke. When I stopped I got withdrawal symptoms, I don't mean this as a joke it was bad

So anyone who drinks a lot cut down slowly, I only drink occasionally now

@baffledcoconut God, how odd, this is the only thing that’s changed recently, been ill since New Year’s Eve on and off and it started then. I assumed I needed a sugar boost or something, but I’m still wanting it on occasions, but a lot
What was the virus/the symptoms?

Started with a raging temp, cough, everything ached (like eyebrows and fingernails. Everything) vivid dreams, insomnia, sinusitis type infection, green luminous snot, hideous taste in my mouth. The works. Took about 5 weeks to start feeling normal.

Mine was Coke Zero. I watered it down a bit too as thought I was getting through too much 🤣

Never been a fan of cock, intact drinking sugar is a nono. Rots your teeth rots your insides, spikes insulin resistance and even diabetes

Who knew cock could be so bad for you😂

DoesItMakeYouFeelBetter · 19/01/2023 21:26

I’ve always been a Diet Coke/Pepsi Max drinker, but in the recent months I have craved full fat coke so much. Im peri-menopausal too.

ThanksItHasPockets · 19/01/2023 21:26

If cock is rotting your insides and spiking your insulin then I am pretty sure you are doing
it wrong.

Rainbowunicornsprinkles · 19/01/2023 21:26

I’ve had a very long day & this thread has made me a little bit hysterical 🤣
thank you for brightening my day.

Catonaroof2 · 19/01/2023 21:26

I had my first Covid infection last summer. I didn't lose taste and smell completely, but everything tasted and smelled of cheap, peachy perfume. Weirdly, I have never previously liked coke, but I'm totally on board with it now.

ShandaLear · 19/01/2023 21:28

BakedTattie · 19/01/2023 20:26

When I was pregnant I craved diet cock. I never ever drink fizzy juice. Now and then I’ll crave it again and the husband gets worried.

I prefer a full fat cock myself.

Hankunamatata · 19/01/2023 21:28

Love a coke zero or Pepsi max (though tescos version of zero is decent). I limit to one can a day and stick to fizzy water the rest of the time

tiredmama23 · 19/01/2023 21:30

Never been a fan of cock,

You're missing out 🤭😆

HaroldsWilly · 19/01/2023 21:31

It felt appropriate to crash this thread. I come with ice as standard.

Hankunamatata · 19/01/2023 21:31

Caffine free Pepsi max is a good substitute for diet drinkers

tiredmama23 · 19/01/2023 21:32

OP I have the exact same cravings literally all the time and it's a nightmare! Mine is a hangover from my pregnancy with my youngest I think - I drank loads of it as I had hyperemesis and would vomit if I drank water. Somehow sipping full fat coke was the only thing I could stomach. Now I crave it all the bloody time still, 2 years later! It's so bad for me but I can't help it 😬

But are you diet or full fat?

MILLYmo0se · 19/01/2023 21:34

It could be linked to the peri menopause maybe (i know i know, EVERYTHINGS the menopause!), a lot of women do crave sweet things at this stage eg ive never been much interested in chocolate, if im given boxes at Xmas i bring them to work cos they woyldnt be eaten here but i was suddenly buying a chocolate bar every lunch brwak. Started hrt and back to can take it or leave it again

Tamarindtree · 19/01/2023 21:34

I have to have extra iron. I crave fizzy drinks especially if my iron level is low.

bonzaitree · 19/01/2023 21:35

Are you doing dry January OP?

sometimes when people stop drinking / cut down on drinking, they crave sugar.

Marmite17 · 19/01/2023 21:35

Also been ill since the week before Christmas and craving foods I wouldn't usually eat. Eating anything I can at times rather than nothing due to nausea.
White bread and butter, trifle are new foods. I think partly due to sore throat.

Tamarindtree · 19/01/2023 21:36

My drug of choice was Fanta fruit twist which is not sugar free but recently I have been able to switch to Lidl’s own orangeade zero. Which has the same tanginess.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 19/01/2023 21:36

I really like a nice cold Coke when I’m a bit run down, not feeling well, or if it’s very hot and I’m extra thirsty. For me it’s like the drink of extra need if that makes sense?

Most of the time I just like tea and water, but on occasion a Coke is just the thing.

If you’re extra run down or have just been ill maybe it’s a similar thing.
