That schools should not be telling children they are born in the wrong bodies?

This is so alarming now - just how many children do we think are born in the wrong bodies?

Is this not now just science fiction?

YABU - Rainbows are magic

YANBU - It's brainwashing. No child is born in the wrong body and schools must be held to account.

I'm sure they do, I do too.

I wonder how many women would support any and all males being allowed into women's spaces with no safeguards in place though?
Remember that all a male has to do is think the word 'I'm trans' and that's it. No diagnosis of gender dysphoria, no hormones, no surgery, no change of clothes. You know Dodgy Dave from down the road, he's a woman if he says so and there's nothing you can do about it.
Shockingly male predators will step through the giant gaping loophole left open, not because TW are predators but because dodgy blokes will hitch their wagon to anything they can to get to their victims. Open your eyes.

When women are told the truth, suddenly their opinions change slightly, weird huh? They tend to especially have a problem with it when they find out 95%+ transwomen keep their penis.

Shout transphobia all you like, the genie is out of the bottle for no debate.

This.

MumOfYoungTransAdult · 18/01/2023 15:14

So yes, I can see that side of the debate, and I think more children will think/say they are transgender, but not necessarily go through the process.

The big fear we have now is the children and young adults who think/say they are transgender and then do go through the process - or new versions of the process which accelerate physical transition at the expense of psychological investigation - and realise afterwards they made a terrible mistake.

I have that fear for my child. I can see it's less of an issue for you, you've done a great job for yours!

pretending to like things like football when all she really wanted to do was go clothes shopping and putting on make up.

My child (also MtoF) has never pretended anything and still hates clothes shopping as much as ever!

Is it poisonous to not want gay kids sterilised? Wowsers.

Don’t be silly.

MumOfYoungTransAdult · 18/01/2023 15:16

The majority of women in the UK support trans rights.

We do, which includes the rights to evidence-based suppport and to safeguarding. Secretly transitioning children at school - even socially - is not safeguarding.

StephanieSuperpowers · 18/01/2023 15:17

FatGirlSwim · 18/01/2023 15:16

So which opinions do you consider poisonous, and why?

SantaCarlaCalifornia · 18/01/2023 15:18

FatGirlSwim · 18/01/2023 15:12

This.

Why are you so scared of people being aware of this?
Obviously, you support the schools socially transitioning the kids without parents' knowledge so you should be glad that it's happening, no?
Or is it only OK if no one knows it's happening at all?
Do you think the parents might not be happy?
Because you just agreed that most women support trans rights, so why would they not be told? They're allies after all.

Dotjones · 18/01/2023 15:20

YABU. I think it's perfectly possible that children can feel that they're born in the "wrong" body - I've come to realise I'm probably the "wrong" gender myself. However, I don't think you can change gender because the body you've got is exactly that, the one you've got. Mine might be wrong (or I think it is) but I can't change it. I can have pieces added or removed through surgery, levels increased or decreased through medication, but all that is doing is fucking around with the one body I have. Put another way, for me, going through "gender reassignment" or even living as the gender I think I should be wouldn't change the fact that my one body was created the way it was.

I don't think this is a hateful opinion - other people might feel differently. I can only speak of my own experience which is that I am certain I can't "change" gender.

One thing that would help this debate no end is if people used the words sex and gender correctly. The conflation of them here seems designed for lack of clarity.

Yeahrightthen · 18/01/2023 15:23

So what’s your point??

How is wanting to protect children with proper safeguarding in place and to protect women’s & childrens spaces from those who would abuse self-ID “anti-trans”? Bc that’s what is being discussed here or haven’t you bothered rtft?

And as others have asked time and again : what exactly is trans? I would like a clear definition before I decide whether I am “for” or “anti” something. I don’t believe anyone is “born in the wrong body” - this has no scientific basis.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 18/01/2023 15:26

Seen as your here, I'll ask you a question no one has yet been able to answer despite years of us all asking.

What rights are you referring to?

Because trans people already have EXACTLY the same rights as everyone else of their sex class, with a few added protections under gender reassignment.

So what rights don't they have?
Which rights keep are the nasty feminists supposedly trying to take away?

What we want is for EXISTING laws and protections to be upheld.
You know, like those pesky female only spaces, services and sports, who are already legally allowed to be single SEX.
The trans lobby are trying to get the exemptions removed, which would actually be removing female legal protections. So who wants to remove who's rights?
Classic DARVO and emotional blackmail from TRA's

I honestly question the motives of anyone who thinks making all female spaces mixed sex is a good idea.

lifeturnsonadime · 18/01/2023 15:27

I'd also love to know which opinions on here are poisonous.

I would also love to know what Gender Identity is, can anyone actually define it?

So what is gender and how do I know if I've got the wrong one?

WandaWomblesaurus · 18/01/2023 15:39

Where is my gender? Is it putting on makeup? Because my boyfriend wears makeup. He's definitely a bloke.
Is it wearing a skirt? Because my boyfriend wears a kilt but definitely a bloke.
Is it to do with the things I like to do? I'm a gamer, good at engineering, not bad at sword fighting. I'm definitely a woman.

What is gender identity then? Is it a handbag? A football? What is it exactly?

WandaWomblesaurus · 18/01/2023 15:42

Is gender identity something that is to do with not liking my body? I've got a pudgy tummy that I wish I didn't have. So does that mean that I need surgery to remove the fat? And should the NHS pay for that?

What is the difference with a girl who is going through puberty hating her breasts and a woman post childbirth hating her mummy tummy? Why is one chopped off and the other just something we have to put up with?

I find the idea that people who are normally caring would suddenly become hate filled bigots about trans ideology so very strange and damaging. The idea that parents who might not be 100% supportive of their child identifying as the opposite 'gender', but are normally caring loving parents would be abusive to their child seems so bizarre to me. If there is not complete capitulation and affirmative of the new identity, the person is transphobic and wants trans people to die. Asking questions or disagreement is not wishing harm or death on someone.

Who benefits from this fearmongering? Who benefits from pushing the separation of a child from their loving family?

This. And that people actually think that JK Rowling who has put millions into child safeguarding charities suddenly wants to kill "trans kids".

It's like some mass hypnosis.

lifeturnsonadime · 18/01/2023 12:52

What is a transphobic home environment?

How do you define trans?

Is a transphobic home environment one where the adult says it's impossible to change sex and there is no wrong way to be a boy or a girl and you are perfect just as you are?

Yes

lifeturnsonadime · 18/01/2023 15:51

HandScreen · 18/01/2023 15:49

Yes

You think it's possible to change sex?

You think children can be born in the wrong bodies?

You think that some children are not perfect and should have damaging surgeries to give them some appearance of being something they are not?

And I'm the bigot?

Fascinating.

@HandScreen swearing at women is a classic gender zealot's tactic.

You don't think people should swear? Dear Lord. Am happy to tell a bigot to fuck off.
