I am fully prepared to accept I am misreading this and ABU:
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11644925/Man-44-inappropriately-touched-murder-victim-16-hid-remains-bush.html
I understand that Amber Gibson, 16 was murdered by her brother Conor Gibson, 20. Her body was then discovered and indecently touched by Stephen Corrigan, 44 Both men were in custody but Corrigan has now been granted bail as he is needed to CARE FOR A 16 YEAR OLD BOY!!! Please tell me I am misunderstanding in some massive way? They can't be releasing a man who assaulted a girls body and allowing him anywhere near a child can they?

AIBU?

Anyone?

Frazzledmummy123 · 17/01/2023 22:20

That's horrific! As 16 is legally regarded as an adult, it'll be claimed he isn't looking after a 'child'. Though if he has to 'care for' them, that totally contradicts this as he is responsible for someone after what he did. It is so wrong!

Theimpossiblegirl · 17/01/2023 22:23

Fucking hell.
On what planet is he a suitable carer for a vulnerable young person?

Chibbers · 17/01/2023 22:33

I know this sounds like a dumb question but if someone could set me clear because the story as it's presented is confusing me.
As I'm reading it is that Gibson murdered his sister with the Intent or actually did rape her. Corrigan, who had nothing to do with the crime, then discovered her body and defiled her, along with hitting her head and body before hiding her?
Have I got that right?

However, it is a despicable and disgusting act and quite frankly he should be locked up for a long, long time. A necrophiliac has no place in decent society.
That poor girl was someone's loved one, for her to be murdered is hard enough for them, but for someone to defile her in her death is beyond words.

Fucking hell.
Pretty sure everyone who knew that 16 year old girl feel like it’s a crime with real victims.
He abused the corpse of a child, nothing symbolic about it.

What do you mean, not as if he actually hurt anyone?
How would you bloody feel if someone murdered your daughter / sister / mother and then the person who discovered them interfered with them sexually rather than reporting the discovery right away?

Should we just have said to David Fuller, oh it's ok mate, you carry on, they're dead anyway, not as though you can hurt them is it.

100thname · 17/01/2023 22:38

Well I haven’t read the article as it’s the Fail, but I guess hey can’t do anything until he’s convicted. Innocent until proven guilty.

I think it is written in a very confusing way.

It says the 16 year old he is caring for is struggling. There may be a very good reason why and they need to ask the question and remove the 16 year old from the care

They can not give him bail and place a 16 year old with ADHD in his care for starters!

why would he be left in the care of this man rather than put into foster care or supported accommodation?

indecently touching a 16 year old girls body is not a 'symbolic crime'. It is a horrific breach of one of the ultimate taboos. Utterly depraved and revolting. The murderer has not been granted bail.

@Chibbers it was her brother who did the hitting on the head and body.

Michellebops · 17/01/2023 22:47

This is actually quite local to me and although it's reported in the DM it's sadly true.

They should be locked up and keys lost down a drain.

Poor girl 💔

Streamside · 17/01/2023 22:50

Horrific, the poor girl was in a children's home. The judge doesn't know why this person has a relationship with a young boy but is prepared to give him bail to allow him to continue the contact.

NanooCov · 17/01/2023 22:56

Absolute bonkers decision by the judge to grant bail. Madness.

PegasusReturns · 17/01/2023 22:58

JFC

i have a husband and two sons I love but with every day that passes I despise men as a group more and more.

what are the chances of a murder victim being found by a necrophilliac; or a rape victim escaping into the grasp of another rapist, or a paedophile finding that they live next to another paedophile?! It should be near as nil but there seem to be disgusting men everywhere.

RichardOsmansXraySpecs · 17/01/2023 22:59
