My left nipple is red sore and erect been like this for 2 days. Also got a small lump under right boob not painful been there for a month. Nurse took blood tests last week. Doctor Urgently said to call back, this was Monday. Of course no one answered. I emailed etc. No reply. Now waiting for call on Monday and I'm so scared. I did have an appointment with breat clinic but due to postal strikes only received my letter after my appointment then got another letter saying they had cancelled it due to a no show. 😭.

Sending love, I hope you speak to someone early on Monday the worrying must be awful xx

Scaredofmynipple · 14/01/2023 20:12

I dont mean to sound like a drama queen. But I can't eat and have barely slept. Just keep thinking of my children 🥺. If anyone answered the bloody phone it could be sorted. And I could have been scanned etc with the breast clinic.

It's really shocking that you couldn't get through to them. I really hope everything is ok.

Scaredofmynipple · 14/01/2023 20:17

New system have to do online but it closes at 6pm. 45minutes then hangs up. Massive confusion over who rung me. Receptionist didn't really take it seriously just said would pop in a request. I tried all blood tests forms etc.

I've been in this situation and I know how stressful and worrying it is. Big hugs.

The first thing you need to do is try not to overthink it or use Dr Google to diagnose anything. It's so much harder when you haven't slept.

On Monday call the GP again, or try the breast clinic and explain why you missed the appointment and the need for another. Generally they will put you on the cancer pathway. Try not to panic over the name, it just basically fast tracks your appointments, meaning you should be seen within 2 weeks.

Try and get some rest.

VioletLemon · 14/01/2023 20:19

Sorry you're feeling scared and worried, can you go into the doctors on Monday. While you're waiting could you read a book, binge watch something absorbing to take your mind off it. The 'Calm' app is helpful for guided relaxation. Sending a hug to you x

Scaredofmynipple · 14/01/2023 20:24

I don't know when I will get a phone call Monday. At work as well. I might just stay at home tbh so I can get to the doctor's. Tbh I'm not sure they will let me in the surgery. Very close down since COVID! Yes I did call the breast clinic but got told I would have to be referred again

Im sorry you're dealing with this.
I would recommend going to the Drs surgery first thing Monday, and dont take no for an answer. Ask whoever answers the door how they'd feel if they got a phonecall asking to ring back urgently, and then no one answered, leaving them distressed with worry all week.

Also, ring the hospital explaining you got the letter after the appointment date, and that you are available at short notice for a cancellation appointment. Theres always a couple of cancellations in a week.

Scaredofmynipple · 14/01/2023 20:45

Hi I did ask for a cancellation but you get taken of the system the receptionist said . If I had got the letter thank you royal mail strikes ... I could have gone.

OP, I‘m guessing you’re worried a potential cancer, I get it, I’ve been on the 2ww pathway very recently and it’s torture
The weekends are hard. It won’t help much tonight, but the Macmillan helpline is open from 8am-8pm, if you’d like to talk through your fears, they deal with lots of cases which turn out not to be cancer.
Sending love 🌸

SuperSleepyBaby · 14/01/2023 20:56

Hi, i was in a similar position you about 7 years ago. I was extremely stressed and felt like it was something very serious and i wouldn't survive.

It turned out to be cancer - but an early stage and treatable. I had a mastectomy. I found it traumatic at the time - but it hindsight it wasn't really a big deal.

i know how you’re feeling

DoIWantThis · 14/01/2023 20:59

Who the hell are your doctors surgery??? Asking you to call back urgently then not being able to make contact with them? I'm fuming on your behalf. Could OOH help? They may have access to your medical records..

Scaredofmynipple · 14/01/2023 21:00

Sorry what is ooh?

Just go into the practice and speak to the manager. You obviously need to be seen asap.

Scaredofmynipple · 14/01/2023 21:07

Thanks I've been trying for another child as well. So the thought of not being able to do that is heartbreaking as well. I hate being a woman sometimes

Sending you lots of love and strength op, I'm sorry you're stuck waiting that's so bad of your surgery. I hope Monday comes around quickly for you - please stay off Google

ClockCoat · 14/01/2023 21:14

Thinking of you x

sonicmum2002 · 14/01/2023 21:15

I think OOH is out-of-hours. Maybe they have access to your results, as the poster suggested. Sending you a hug.

FusionChefGeoff · 14/01/2023 22:24

I would be taking Monday off work and heading to the surgery in person

DoIWantThis · 15/01/2023 07:20

Apologies yes, OOH is out of hours. You could call your GP surgery today when closed. There may be a message to call a particular number - although these days I believe that would be 111. They should be able to access your medical records through the NHS Spine. This is an NHS system whereby NHS health care staff throughout the UK can see your medical notes, including test results. (unless you have opted out - you would likely remember doing this, most patients don't). I wish you the best of luck OP, keep us updated x

Scaredofmynipple · 15/01/2023 07:25

Well this morning white gunky pus has come out of the nipple!

OP posts:
Flowersonthewall123 · 15/01/2023 07:32

Another vote for out of hours GP today incase there is an infection and calling the breast clinic direct. They can put you on a cancellation list / ask if you can come and sit on x day and wait for a no show which might take a while but it’s worth it if you’re worried. Or just rebook you.

I had a super sore lump last year but it was just a cyst and all ok so I know your feelings well. I cried for my children and my mind ran away.
There is nothing you can do right now other than the above, call both and get as much sorted as possible then try to enjoy your day with your kids.

Scaredofmynipple · 15/01/2023 08:19

How do I find an out of hours gp? I tried 111 online but they said to wait for a gp appointment

Now blood is coming out. Found a walk in clinic so will plonk my ass down. DP is now asking if I will get seen in time so he can go to his hobby ... 🙄
